As I have had some time off recently, I've had more frequent engagement with the gym than usual (going every second day or so In the past fortnight). I've done a mixture of weights, cardio and group classes. Somewhere along the line, I've obviously overdone it or not done enough stretching as for the past three days I've had hideously tight hamstrings, the sort that makes walking difficult and makes me reluctant to pick stuff up off the floor. I've tried: stretches including stretching routines from You Tube, light swimming, foam rolling the muscles, some yoga moves, rest, brisk walking, pretty much everything I can think.
The thing is, three days later there seems to be no improvement at all. I normally have good flexibility in my hamstrings (former runner so I know how to look after them usually) but it is very unusual for me to get this at all, and even stranger to see no improvement over three days. Does anyone have any ideas I could try? Obviously if it continues I will book a physio appointment in a few days but I'd really like to sort it without paying a physio bill if I can. Thanks for any ideas, suggestions, links, videos...
