Hi, after the excitement of my first 5k event yesterday I would really like to sign up to a 10k. I can't seem to find any 5k to 10k training plans, can anyone recommend any? Or can I just build up in .5k increments each week? I am currently running 5.8k 3 or 4 times a week, so was maybe going to up it to 6k, then the following week 6.5k etc or can I do it faster than that. I don't want to rush my body as I am a slow paced runner (5k in 35 mins), but equally I want to keep going with a goal and push myself. Would LOVE to do a half marathon one day. MUST.STAY.MOTIVATED
I'm in the process of doing this. I'm up to 8k so far. My self designed training programme this week is Monday 6k, Wednesday 8k, Friday 3k, Saturday 5k park run. And then to increase the dinstance on a Monday and Wednesday.
My problem is that I'm so slow. Once I'm up to running 10k, I really really need to get faster.
