Can I join, please? I did C25K this time last year, and then got really into Parkrun, but since Christmas haven't been out and done any running at all! Have signed up for the London 10,000 in May so desperately need a kick up the bum. Went out and huffed through week 6 of C25K this afternoon and will build from there....

Only on w2 r2 and I'm loving it! BUt since weds my knees hurt, I'm guessing, and had a quick google, that I shouldn't do w2r2 yet sad really disappointed and frustrating! Any advice?
I'm not in it for the park run either! But would like to be able to join a local running club (they don't have beginners atm)

Hello! Defo not in it for the park run but have finished week 4 this week and by some miracle didn't feel like I was going to die during the 5 minute parts....

First parkrun yesterday and it was a great experience. I was worried that I would stick out like a sore thumb as a complete amateur but it was awesome!

Really friendly, the marshals clapped everyone on and it honestly didn't matter what time you did. There were club runners and occasional runners, children, dogs and all shapes and sizes. People ran, jogged and walked.

Felt like a great way to mark getting to the end of C25k.

W4r2 done. 4km in total. Hard to imagine I could be doing 20mins in just over a week. I think I need to drive to a less hilly part of London to run! My local park run is on Saturdays but I've looked at their times online and they are fast! There's another a short bus trip where at least half the runners are 30-45mins for 5k so I may feel more at home there.

I am starting Week 5, after a very tiring week when I didn't run at all...Am signed up for a 3k in 4 weeks and don't want to come in last so need to get back out there.

Once I have done the 3k, I will be doing the 5k Park Run.

I completely misjudged my distances today (tried a new route) and ended up finishing w2r1 at the furthest point from home, doh! So ended up doing it again on the way home. Numpty. My knees are a bit grumpy about it.

I finished the c25k app yesterday, through sheer determination I have actually completed in in three weeks. It doesn't seem right that only 3 weeks ago a minute run was hard but I put that down to bordum and my own mind telling me I hate it.

I've got just under 3 weeks until my 5k and still 0.9 miles short from 3miles so today I am upping my time to 36minutes. I know I've got more to give as I don't sweat that much.

I got new asics yesterday and they feel so nice until I started running and my toes went numb. I'm going to try some cushion insoles today.

Your toes went numb the first time you ran in them? Is there enough room at the front? Were you fitted in a proper running shop for them?

It was a proper shop yes. And there is room in them. It felt like the insole had slipped on one foot but it transpired my running sock had slipped down and had gathered under my large toe.

The heels felt amazing but didn't feel like much padding in the toe so will try insoles today. I'm a bit gutted as I paid a lot more than I wanted too. And they look amazing

Keep going all you C25Kers ....I marked the end of my 10 weeks of training by going through with the 5k event yesterday. Not a great time (35 mins) but I ran it all and had so much fun. Really want to sign up for a 10k now. I have my very first medal grin

Well done to the park runners/5kers!
I'm going for w4r2 tomorrow and had a bit of an anxious thought.
Where I run, it's quite rural and I don't often see people, just a few cars.
I saw on my FB today an e-fit in circulation trying to identify someone who sex u ally assaulted a woman at around 10 am in a fairly public place. It got me thinking, what would happen if I was attacked while out running?
I know the chances are slim but it's got me worrying. I always have my phone on me and tell people where I am going and when ill be back but wondering about any other precautions?

I just run in well lit areas, but I'm in London so it's pretty easy for me. I have been debating doing evening runs around a local football pitch but decided it's a bit too quiet in evenings/early mornings which is a pity as it's probably the only flat area near me😀.

I've just done w4r3, did 2 days in a row as won't get out again until at least Thursday due to work/childcare. found a slightly longer, slightly less hilly route, end to end it was 5km- I walked a bit extra at the end. Took me 39mins in total so I'm hopeful in a few weeks I'll be able to do 5km in 35mins or so. I think I walk and run at much the same pace mind!
