Can anyone recommend me some trail running shoes?

My new local parkrun is in a field and although the ground was hard when I went on Saturday, it was muddy yesterday and I almost slipped over a few times.

I have no idea about trail shoes though so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I have been looking at these as they apparenyl have 'mud release technology' Confused I didn't know that was even a thing!

bloody hell the price of those, 3x what OP linked to

I buy chunky tread items for < half the Salomon price at SportsDirect. But I have to see & try them on in person, wouldn't risk mail order. My current faves are some Adidas ones I got in SD for about £30.

You can try on sports shoes.com, they sometimes have them cheaper. Before I had them I got a good year out of Karrimor ones, although the Salomons are much better, if you don't need them much the cheaper option may be ok.

I had some Karrimor one's from Sportsdirect and they are no where near as good as my Salomon Speedcrosses when running though squelchy mud up and down hill. You need to shop around though. I normally pay about £50 for a pair and get whatever colour is the cheapest/on offer (as they are just going to get covered in mud anyway!)

Just checked which ones my Dd 15 has and they are addidas response trail 21 she does a lot of x country and says they are brill. But would suggest you go to a specialist running shop and get advice as we all have personal preferences which might not be the best fit for you . Dd has very wide feet but is also very flat footed so needs a lot of support in her arches .

Few weeks ago, our local SD, there were heaps of hideous Salomon's on display, all marketed as great running shoes, like this. I didn't like the Salomon fit on my heel, too high and rigid, so I bought some Nikes instead. The Salomon's & others were all about the same price.

Can anyone recommend me some trail running shoes?

I have some Adidas ones from sports direct too. They seem good to me, survived an 8 miler recently and I'll be using them next week on a trail half. Gulp. They are my first ever trail shoes though so I have nothing to compare them with.

I recently bought a pair of Adidas Kanadia women's trail trainers. They've got a bit of flex in them (although if I had a lot of money to spend I'd have minimalist trail shoes) and they seem to be able to cope with mud. They were in the sale in Runner's Need, around £50 iirc. Like you I only need them for muddy parkruns and the odd run on my own. They should last me a while.

Like long I've never had trail shoes before (and I've only ever owned Nikes too) but they seem to be doing the job.
