I hope nobody got washed away this morning? The weather here was absolutely beastly and there a MudCrew event on this weekend - a 100 mile ultra marathon along the Cornish coastpath crazy or brave???

Oh we blew it this morning.

dh is away, I felt rotten all day yesterday, ds played football for 2 hours last night so he didn't want to go, weather forecast was for pouring rain, dd2 would have had to come and hang around in the rain, because when we left her with ds last week she caused a massive fight.

So I went to bed and turned off my alarm.

should have been an easy count towards my 50, but it wasn't to be.

We made it to a very soggy run, the children were not keen but enjoyed splashing when we got there. First lap was just drizzly but it did get heavier. Still over two hundred showed up. Time wasn't too bad, we had to stop a couple of times to retire DSs laces. That was grim, they were very muddy!

The only other time we've gotten so wet and muddy was Lanhydrock Thursday. Sitting down sounds a good plan. The coast thing sounds terrifying.

Great fun at Carrick's 2nd birthday,and I'll be doing a blog which I'll share later.

Lots of super fancy dress - Alice and the White Rabbit, Mickey and Minnie, 118 guys, Mario brothers, Mr and Mrs Potato Head, Wally and Milly, but......we won the pwize! It was a damp morning, and I was glad that my costume consisted of coat hat and gloves, though that was a bit too warm for running. Managed a PB at this course, though, which was nice, and had lovely cake and sushi afterwards, and got chatting to the other doggy runners.

Ah well done Mum, I'm always terrified I'm going to lose my car key in the way round, but never do the pat-the-pocket-check until I'm practically at my car door!

I really ought to volunteer next week. I miss my buds.

DS1 fell over today, feeling relieved he didn't fall in the lake. But he carried on and finished it. He has a lovely graze and bruise on his face.

I lost a car key at my local parkrun a few weeks ago. Got to the end and nothing in my pocket, spent about 15 mins looking in the grass for it, gave up , walked 2 km to a friends house ,and got him to drive me home to collect a spare and back to the course to collect my car.
So about an hour after the end of the race I finally get home and get undressed for a shower and a key falls onto the floor! No idea where it was alk that timne but my wife asked me to wash it before it got used again.

Posted too soon , as there was a big fun run using our park today we went to the next nearest parkrun which has much fewer runners and my 8 year old son 'ran his age' and came in 8th
Has anyone else manage that?

Lots of mud and puddles this morning, it was also raining but I didn't really notice it. An average time however I am in a secret race in my head only with another parkrunner and today she went off really quickly but I managed to chase her down and overtook her in the last km I know it's not a race and she probably has no idea of our rivalry but it is helping with my motivation

Well done to your son miked I regularly finish in a position around my age, but having just checked my results I have never managed it exactly. I took three years off it today it will be something else I can aim for.

A wet and windy morning at Northampton. DS1 too under the weather to go with DH & DS2 to their usual sat morning training, so instead of running I dragged him out to volunteer with me....he got a grumpy towards the end , bad parent

However, my first time doing tokens and it was great to see all the runners over the line. First man in strolled in casually ages ahead of the field, all of who M were puffing and panting (no 3 proclaimed a loud "f* me, that was hard" in the funnel and then apologized profusely when realised DS was there! )

A long time no see (baby brain can't cope with having to log in every time I come on mumsnet). No parkrun for me as my delicate children turn into whinge monsters at the slightest sign of water!! Junior parkrun tomorrow though.

I sometimes run my age as position-last time I visited carrick I came 26th in exactly 26 minutes, which you couldn't do if you tried!

I'd have to go to a very small parkrun to run my age DS wasn't far off at our juniors today. Soggy yesterday and freezing today, I was glad to get home and out for a run myself.

The action shots were taken by a runner who stopped each lap at a good spot and took maybe 50 pics. The result was about 400 photos on total on the Flickr page, for people to download as they liked. His own run time was in the 50s, so bless him for doing thus!

Meanwhile, ouch!

I went out as usual with both my dogs. At a narrow path I saw a GSD approaching us, and as Max is in skittish form I changed our route to avoid meeting head on. This meant going down a steep path towards the river. Near the tow path, Max saw a couple of bicycles, and decided to chase them I couldn't hold him

back on the slippery muddy path, and hurled myself at a wire fence to brake. Ended up flat on my face in the mud. Am currently sat on the sofa nursing bruised and swollen knees, a dodgy ankle, scraped elbows and palms.

Yes I went! And it was haaaaard!!!! I added a magificent 6 minutes onto my pb
I was quite happy with that though as I haven't run that far since October and I've never run on anything other than tarmac before. This was mud! And it was sooooo windy! Beautiful views though. Apparently you can see over to the Isle of Wight on a clear day :)

Oh poor you Melanie, hope it all eases up soon.

We have one runner who takes photos fairly regularly. He normally stops for a bit then dashes past to take up a new spot. It's very dispiriting. And inspiring, I think he's in his seventies. But he usually gets a couple of shots of every runner, he's taken some fabulous ones of the kids, me not so much. But he can't work miracles

A quick question from me about age categories... what do all the letters stand for?

I'm in SW30-34, I imagine because I'm 33 years old, but what is the 'SW' part?
