FitBit sensitivity - any experiences?

Apparently I had done 37 steps this morning before I got out of bed.

I also did 12000 steps a few days ago when knitting Grin - I think I've solved that one by putting it on my non-dominant hand.
Now I am considering keeping it on my left wrist, but putting the setting to 'dominant' to lower the sensitivity further - does anybody do that??

pants, utterly pants, sorry!!!
Mine registered a few hundred steps while I was listening to a boring talk.
I tried to calibrate adjust etc, no help.

Mine said I woke up 46x one night... Actually I was restless, but actual sleep in 3 definite stretches, not 46.

Yikes! That does not sound good.
I've only been using mine for a week, so will persevere a bit longer, I think.

I think a lot of people use them anyway, reckoning that they are equally rubbish for everyone so as long as you're comparing to others using FitBit then you are all affected the same. Fair enough.

Oh, I am never going to compare myself to others - I don't actually like the social media side of it all.

Maybe I should've asked Santa for a cheapie pedometer instead… Hmm

Mine said I had been up 17 flights of stairs this morning, when I had only been up 1. The other day it said I had not been upstairs at all, and the other day I got about 5k steps by Kondo-ing. I have emailed their support, as talking to my colleagues who have them, they do not seem to have the same problem.

I wear mine on my non dominant arm, set to dominant as mine was counting steps/floors whilst I was a passenger in the car!
It has settled down a bit but I guess if I move my arm about it may think I'm walking.
I figure it's doing the same nutty thing daily so comparable info

Hm, there seem to be more people with issues with them Hmm

I now have mine on my left wrist and have set it (incorrectly) to 'dominant' which seems to be fairly accurate now. I walked to and from school and work today and I think the distance/steps it's suggesting seem reasonable.
Mine does not record flights of stairs (Flex) - now that would be interesting…. Grin

Yes, I'm just looking to compare myself with myself, on my more and less active days, so am looking at a longer term picture rather that complete accuracy.

I think this is a common problem with ones that you wear on your wrist. I have had the fitbit one for years which I wear inside my bra and find it extremely accurate.

I also have a Fitbit one and wear either on my bra or in my pocket without issues.

Yes, I can see the wisdom of attaching it to a bra strap tbh.

I wonder whether I could take the tracker out of the wrist band and simply tuck it in to my bra?! Grin

Pacific I have done exactly that!!! Can't feel it and it counts much more accurately, plus the sleep thing was bugging me, I've had mine since October though so thought it might just be me falling out of love with it.

I've now been wearing it on my non-dominant wrist while telling it that it's on the dominant and that seems to have made it more accurate - I will start tucking the tracker in my bra as of tomorrow: one change per week so I can compare Grin[scientific study going on here]
