I'm wondering if someone in the know could advise me on how often to use the cross trainer and for how long at a time? I also have some weights and I've no idea what to do with those! As you can probably guess, I'm a failed exerciser. Gave up c25k (tho want to try again), gave up swimming. I really want to get fitter and lose 12 kilos. Would using this regularly make a difference? please say yes

Yes, I think it will if you use it regularly. I have a cross trainer at home which these days is mainly used to hang towels on but when I've used it it makes me sweat more than anything else so it must be doing some good!

I'd say use it for 20-30 minutes every other day at first. Does it have programmes? If so, start off with an easy one & build up. Exercising on a cross trainers can be boring, so doing a programme can vary things a bit.

You could do a version of C25k on the cross trainer if you wanted to.

Can't advise on the weights as I don't have much experience of those.

Thank you. It's not a sophisticated one, so it doesn't have programmes, but I really like your idea of doing a version of c25k. I was thinking I might use wireless headphones to watch some TV box sets whilst exercising.

Good idea. Anything to motivate you & stop it getting boring!
