Exercise

lost feeling in my feet

I've joined a fun and fit running club for beginners.
I've been going about 6 weeks and normally we run for a minute and walk for a minute and increase the runs to 4mins.
Today no one but me turned up, so the instructor and I just went out to see how far I could go.

I ran for 0.8mile before I wanted to stop because I was getting tight calves and a sore muscle pain in my hip.
We walked for a bit and then tried jogging again but my calves and hips really annoyed me.
Then I got pins and needles in my left foot and gradually lost all sensation in it!

Is this normal?
It was horrible and I struggled to carry on.
When we limped back we did some stretches and I lost sensation in both feet!!!!

My trainers were loose and this has not happened before.
Does anyone know what I did wrong?

Warning - no qualifications to answer this.

Do you have the sensation back? how long was it gone for? if you still can't feel anything I'd go to minor injuries tomorrow morning first thing.

Oh yes feet fine now, lasted about 15 mins after I sat down.

I just don't think my body wants me jogging!!!

Cake eating on the other hand doesn't give me any discomfort!

What are your trainers like? How worn are they?

Trainers lacking in appropriate support and cushioning can strain on other parts of the body.

We're they too loose? If you're trying to hold them with your feet, that won't help.
