OMG - Hiit training

Just did my first session on the cross trainer. I thought i was going to puke up a lung. Please tell me it gets easier - quickly, and you are now uber fit with the body of a supermodel.

Its my first bout back after the summer and half of autumn off and we got a cross trainer (freecycle). I only managed a warm up and 4 bursts, before i had to get off before i fell off.

For some reason beyond my comprehension hubby and i signed up for a muddy obstacle course thing and now we are less than 3 months away and i am panicking. Does anyone have any fab ideas?
