Exercising with the Wii to lose weight

Any point to this?

I need to lose 1-2 stone. I can't do heavy going exercise due to a back injury, and hate swimming, I have tried calorie counting and think I will have to try exercising this disgusting fatness that is me.

I'm a single mum so can't get out to exercise as much as I'd like. I need to lose about 3 stone so I've started to use the wii alongside exercise DVDs and occasional c25k when my daughter is with her dad. With the wii the way I see it is at least I'm doing something! I've got a few different exercise games and really love Just Dance and Zumba. I've got Just Dance 2014 which is fab because you can set music to different timed sessions and it measures calories burnt. I have no idea how accurate it is (probably not very!) but it boosts me to push on! I think also if you have an injury you can swop out bits that don't work for you and go at your own pace. I've also got wii fit and my fitness coach and I'm planning on mixing it all up so I don't get bored!
At the end of the day, it's getting moving!

It's not going to make a massive difference, Prob same amount of calories is burned doing housework! More fun tho

That's disheartening. This morning I did 50 minutes and burnt 123 calories. I have food issues as well so it is all quite hard. I am hugely stressed at the moment plus the kids are on holidays anpd I'm beyond tired so it isn't conducive to time for me at the moment.

If your children are old enough would it be possible to go out walking with them? We've started geocaching and ended up walking over 4 miles this afternoon hunting them down. According to the map my fitness app I burnt 528 calories and that was going pretty slow because I had my little niece with me too. We were out for about 2 hours. I feel like a new one after getting out and away from the housework and toy sharing dramas for a bit. If you've got the time and it suits you and your children could that be an idea?

Actually it does make a difference. It did with me. Its added movement, it all helps. Plus you still need to do the cleaning!

I did Zumba for an hour a day full on sweaty Betty along with eating healthy and lost around 10lbs in 6 weeks. I would just get up a bit earlier and do it before my morning shower and it actually motivated me to eat better for the rest of the day. It can't hurt to try, any movement is better than nothing.

Last summer I did the shred for 3-5 weeks. Lost nothing.
