Slight delay in creating a July thread - here it is.

Body Rev phase 3 week 12 workout 11 done. One more workout to go and I've finished Body Rev. Today was a bit half-arsed, sadly - it was just too hot to work really hard.

Please tell me about body rev.
I'm doing 30ds and ripped in 30 but it's getting a bit boring.
I mix them about a bit.
I even put an old Davina DVD on the other day. God it was slow and dull.

Signing in.
Thanks for the new thread Imogen.
It has been muggy and wet here for a few days and agree I have not been as 'phoned in' as usual. Managed the usual NMTZ on Tues and various 20 min sections of Kickbox FF yesterday and today.
Sweating like a pig though Blush.

Woe is me for I have knackered my knee. All from rushing up the twisty stairs where I work. Felt it go 'boink' and now it's sore and swollen. Gutted.

Blaming spin class from Monday night as it felt stiff and overworked afterwards. Haven't been able to work out since. Again, gutted. Was doing so well.

Have been applying ice and all that. Any suggestions on workouts that don't involve the knees? Portugal's in a fortnight and don't want to undo all my hard work Sad

Unaligned try Burn Fat Boost Metabolism as there are lots of upper body sections that you could probably do sat down if necessary. You could also do just the upper body sections of No More Trouble Zones.
HTH and hope you are fit for you hols Smile.

I've been doing a different workout the last few days due to the boiling weather. It's a sixty minute workout called Ballet Beautiful (from YouTube). You don't do very much, so it doesn't get you sweaty. It focuses on little movements that quickly become very painful. It's effective though. Especially on the tummy, I found.

UnalignedAnt, if you don't want to work out your knees, you could try some of the abs and arms workouts from it? Should be easy to search for.

I miss my Jillians though and am looking forward to having her yell at me again when the weather cools.

Body Rev phase 3 week 12 workout 12 done - and that's me finished with Body Rev. Yippeee! I'm not going to start a new JM before I go on holiday, I'm going to alternate her yoga workouts and take things relatively gently, and then I've ordered Killer Body for when I get back.

ihatethecold, I thought Body Rev was really good - it's a 90-day programme rather than 30, with 12 strength workouts and 3 cardio. (The strength workouts also include cardio intervals.) You do each strength workout for 2 weeks, and each cardio workout for 4 weeks.

The strength workouts come in pairs, for the front and back of the body - so in weeks 1 and 2 you do workout 1, workout 2, cardio 1 and repeat, and then move on to the next set of workouts in weeks 3 and 4. I cheated and did 5 days a week not 6, because I would have lost the will to live if I'd had to get up and do cardio on Saturday mornings. If you're reasonably fit already thanks to the mighty JM, phase 1 is fairly easy.

UnalignedAnt, sorry about your knee. I second NMTZ as an option - the last two circuits are done lying on the floor and shouldn't strain your knees. Pilates is another possibility: a lot of the moves are floor-based and shouldn't put too much pressure on the knee. I have the Darcey Bussell Pilates for Life DVD, which I recommend.

Yoga Inferno L1 done. Did I say relatively gently? I'd forgotten that this one is actually quite tough, especially if you're as inflexible as me.

Hi ladies, I was desperately hoping to finish my 30 day shred in June but baby's naps went haywire with the heat and I had a whole series of additional demands these last few days so finally, this morning, I did [insert trumpet fanfare here] level 3 day 10! Delighted with myself, it has really helped drag my post-pregnancy wobbley bits back a lot closer to the figure I used to have and it is so satisfying to see my strength and muscle tone improve so much over the few weeks of shredding.

My plan now is to stick with level 3 for another week or so - I still cannot do the plank rows with leg raises for the full interval and I would love to master these. I managed to hugely improve my situps and jumping lunges over the course of level 3 and I want to see the same progression in the other moves too. Then after a few more level 3s, I think I will go back to the start with heavier weights and also explore some of the other Jill workouts if I can get them on youtube.

The June thread was a marvellous motivator for me and I look forward to kicking Jill's perfectly toned ass a bit more with all of you in July. Go team Jillian!

PS someone mentioned Ballet Beautiful above - I came out in a cold sweat remembering the seemingly gentle and innocent 10-minute arm workout I once stumbled across on her youtube. Holy $#*?, it was possibly the toughest thing I have ever done. I was nearly crying a couple of minutes into it, bloody swan arms, looked like absolutely nothing at all and were murderous! I cannot imagine a full body workout with her, even if I would love her physique. Fair play.

Well done, Sycamore and Imogen! Congratulations on getting to the end of your Jillians.

Yeah, the arms workout on Ballet Beautiful is horrible, isn't it? I started off thinking it was easy, like what's so hard about swinging your arms around for a bit? Found out about two minutes in.

Those ballerinas must have insane amounts of endurance.

Thanks, MsRaspberry! There were times when I thought I wouldn't get through Body Rev. And congratulations sycamore - it's great that the Shred's working for you.

Yoga Inferno L2 today. I'd forgotten that it had weighted supermans in the last circuit. My arms are so feeble - I struggle with those even with 1kg weights. Also her cardio interval of choice in this one is squat thrusts, which are the work of the devil.

I might have a look at Ballet Beautiful: sounds intriguing! I'm about to be away for work for a few days but will have my laptop with me, so Youtube is a possibility. Do you need a lot of space or could you do it in a small hotel room?

NMTZ today.
Weather cooler here now so back to usual intensity. Smile
Last week's workouts definitely had me phoning a lot in and I struggled to get up and do them at all!
Hate squat thrusts too Imogen!

You can do Ballet Beautiful in a big cupboard. You don't even need weights. But for something where you barely move, it is a killer. Good though!

Marvellous, I'll try Ballet Beautiful while I'm away next week as a change from Yoga Meltdown. I had a quick look on YouTube just now and she has the body I've always dreamed of (though sadly i'd have to grow several inches to achieve it, which at my age doesn't seem very likely). I'll warn whoever's got the room next door to me not to worry if they hear sobbing...

Yoga Inferno L1 done. Not a brilliant day - my balance was shot for some reason, so I was wobbling all over the place in the side planks. I keep telling myself at least I got up and did it.

Well done Imogen on your 12 week programme, wow.

LMAO at someone doing Ballet Beautiful in a tiny hotel cupboard.
I did level 3 day 11 today, getting better at blasted plank rows...

Level three day eleven? Oof, well done!

I did workout one of Kickbox Fastfix today. I've been feeling a bit down the last few days and just couldn't make myself do any exercise. I promised myself that if I just did something this week, I could eat whatever I wanted afterwards as a reward.

So I did it and then ate two packets of sushi, a cream cake, a chocolate mousse, and a packet of crisps. Not the fair compromise I was aiming for. Silly me.

Though I do feel less depressed!

Place marking. Fell of the Jilian wagon mid June - had a really bad cold and chest infection.
Was about to start 30ds l2.
I think I will pencil in for tomorrow or Friday, although expecting Period any day and it might be super heavy like last month as I miscarried in April. Anyway must get on it... Have 1/2 stone to loose and need to tone up. My back has been bad since my doing 30ds so it must be strengthening my back which is good! Smile

Kickbox FF workout 1 yesterday, workout 2 today. Aiming to try and do both tomorrow to get a 40 min session done!
imsolo my versio of NMTZ is quite old and doesn't have Oral B ads Confused. NMTZ is one of my favourite workouts!
Treated myself to a new pair of workout capris from the Boden sale - nice and comfy and would recommend. Smile

Well, last week was a bit of a disaster exercise-wise. My parents were staying, and as far as I can tell all they did was sit in the living room watching re-runs of Morse. Thus meant I couldn't get to the TV or the DVD player, so no shredding whatsoever for a whole week Shock

They've gone home now, so I'm back: 30DS L3D5.

I think I've might of overdone it today.
I did about an hour of HIIT training then a 40 min jog with the dog.
I'm absolutely knackered now.
Had a shower and climbed back into bed!
