30 day shred killing my knees

I've really enjoyed doing the 30 day shred ( 19 days in ) but the last couple of days my knees have been quite sore. Do I stick with it? Stop? Or can anyone recommend something similar which might not be as intensive on my old knees. I'm wearing trainers and using a mat and I'm sure I'm doing the moves correctly. They were fine on level 1 but not great on level 3. Sad Is Davina's 7 min fit the same? I've lost 2inches off bust, hips and waist so don't want to stop completely. Any advice? TIA.

I am on day 20 but still on level 1: going for level 2 next week, as I have trouble with my knees too. I too wear trainers and use a thick mat. I can't do the first set of jumping jacks after the warm up so box instead, and instead of the little jumps do very fast little steps: this does help my knees. But I am struggling with the lunges. It's only one knee and I am loathed to get a support.

I'm impressed at your weight loss. I'm doing Slimming World, and the C25K too as I need to lose a stone.

If you don't have a pre-existing condition I would stick with it. I went through this, modified some of the moves or swapped them for others (like you're doing) and that worked.

With the moves that are giving you trouble, try searching for 'modified {name of move}' and see if anything comes up on YouTube etc.

I would say rest a few days - listen to your body, especially knees! I didn't and carried on running. That was 4 years ago and I still have problems so regretted ignoring the niggle when I should.

I had the same, stopped doing the jumping jacks and it all settled down. I just do jumping on the spot instead

I really hurt my knee doing the 30DS. In retrospect, I should have given myself a few days off and rested. But I pressed on with it (I really wanted to do the full 30 days!) and ended up having to see the GP.

I'm the same but with my back. Ok for around 10 days then back goes.

I have now restarted but modyfying the harsh cardio for lower impact stuff

Thanks for the advice/experiences. I have rested a few days and started doing Davina's 7min fit today which seemed to be easier on the knees. So far I haven't found any jumping jacks in it. Grin
