How do you motivate yourself? Or rather how do I? I did 20 days of 30 day shred- loved it, lost inches, felt fitter, enjoyed the post-workout feeling - then we went away for a weekend and that was a month ago Blush. I made a half-hearted attempt to restart ten days ago and promptly went down with tonsillitis, so that was abandoned. Seriously wtf is wrong with me?? I KNOW the positives but I just cannot seem to chisel my bum off the sofa....

Same here. I trained for a ran a half marathon in April. Since then have done bugger all, Tbf I have got married and have been dealing with poorly kids etc, ds2 has had numerous hospital app including general anaesthetic and dd has had chickenpox and dh started a new job so life is crazy. But I need to get off my arse, stop eating shit and get exercising.

Gosh you sound like you've had a lot on your plate! Hope your wedding was lovely :). I'm getting married in three weeks argh and we've also had a delightful selection of illnesses, plus I'm still breastfeeding so losing weight without trying, albeit very slowly, so it's easy to convince myself that exercise isn't reeeallly necessary...

Wedding was fab thankyou, after seventeen years and five kids it was just a small one to make it official.

Ds2 now has a vommitting bug, joy. He was meant to be at hospital for a physio app today so that's had to be cancelled.

If you are still bfeeding make sure you eat properly to make up the calories when you do exercise abd good luck for the wedding, are you all organised? My dress and our rings only arrived four days before they day! It all ended up very last minute as we had been so busy with Ds2 and hospital appointments.

I will get out for a run this week! Small manageable goals, I feel so much better when I exercise I know I do its just getting out the door that's hard.

I get my exercise stuff out the night before and out of bed to do it the moment the alarm goes off. If I leave it til later either there's no opportunity, or I keep putting it off.

Glad you enjoyed it 5mad - ours was supposed to be small and has snowballed... I do have a dress but it hasn't been fitted yet, and we haven't even ordered rings yet! Slight panic...

And pootle thank you for the tip- have done that for tomorrow!

You can spend all day thinking about doing it or just do it.

The only workout you regret is the one you don't do.

Look after your health now while you can. don't wait for your doctor to send you on a health walk into the future.

Think about how good you feel post workout. How it lifts the fog.

These are the kinds of things I say to myself to get going. Good luck!

I sometimes have to trick myself, so I'll say ' okay, you can't face the 10 mile run. Just do 5' and then I pick an extendable route and more often than not, once I'm out there I do the whole thing. Can you say ' I'll just watch the dvd and join in if I feel like it'? Or ' I'll just do the first 10 mins'
