Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

Very proactive of you jackster!! Thanks for the new thread

I'm the exercise opposite of boobz and fullsteam I think. I hate strength stuff and thought that the whole way thru max strength today. I don't like the feeling when you can't do one more and how much it hurts, but when I do cardio stuff I love that feeling when you really push it to exhaustion. Horses for courses I guess. Having said that, I was amazed to see that I could do quite a few full tricep push ups today so I guess I'm getting better?!

Glad you had a good weekend too jackster.

I have Friday fight round 2 tomorrow which I'm dreading. Last week I maxed out at 6mins so the bar is set very low for improvement!

Wow we got a 1000 posts, lots of hardwork obviously going on Grin

Thanks for new thread jacks, ript cicuit done here too ([whispers] much more fun than drench ) so we are on track... .

I have gained 3 lbs over the weekend.....a bit perlexed as I was lax with mfp but didn't go totally bananas. Guess I def need to log and watch carbs a bit more!

That link from your dh looks interesting Boobz ... lots of people on mumsnet also reccomend this site www.fitnessblender.com/ ... I have been toying for ages with the idea of getting a kettlebell and trying the 5 min routine as an odd on.

Wow 1000 posts! We are a hard working bunch of ladies.

I am supposed to be doing Pure Cardio today, but I am only allowed to wash my hair twice a week (in a bid to stop it falling out...) and this morning was my hair wash and so I don't want to have it sweaty again within a few hours and then not be allowed wash it again until Thursday!

So I am having an unscheduled rest day to enjoy my clean hair. I will do the double tomorrow, which will be Pure Cardio, Legs & Back and Cardio Abs. All that lot is going to take over 2 hours! Better start early in the morning!

I've found you guys!!! :) 1000 posts, we rock!!!

Boobz, I had a look at Freeletics website too, it looks really good. Is your husband using free service or the tailored version? I can't believe you are going to attempt a double tomorrow, you are a crazy lady!!!

I did Shoulders and Back plus cardio abs today and this is a pic of me :)))

Go for it Boobz! (within reason seeing as you are on chemo!!)

Speed 2.0 done today, was supposed to be 1.0 but the disk was still in my video from rip't and changing it would have been too much exercise ;)

Great pic fullsteam Grin

Oh good, glad you have all found new thread! We are still missing spooky and Sarah, of our regulars (anyone else?) so I will PM them if they haven't shown up in the next day or so! (Feeling responsible for maxing out the old thread without leaving a link to new one Blush.)

poppy good call re speed 2.0. Am half tempted to do the same except that my toe is still niggling and I think 2.0 is probably the worst workout for being very "bouncy". Will probably stick to 1.0.

Fullsteam Grin @ pic.

Jackster - you were right not to do speed 2.0. When I did it a couple of days ago I found it so bouncy on the balls of my feet that they were almost burning at the end of it!
Well done boobz. I love that your workout schedule is driven by your hair wash schedule!
Did Friday fight 2 today. Maxed at 15mins this time but I wasn't keeping up with Shaun t at that point.....had a revaluation and realised I wasn't doing any of the plank moves right as my hands weren't directly under my shoulders. After correcting it my abs are killing now! They're a lot harder the proper way. I can't believe it has taken me 4mths to realise my form wasn't right Blush

Hello! It took me a while to find you but I got there in the end! Thanks for starting a new thread Jackster

Well I have been very grumpy and out of sorts and then got on the scales this morning and I am the heaviest I have been for a while but just realised is time of the month so phew! Might also explain desire to eat my own body weight in biscuits and chocolate (not sure what my excuse is the other 3 weeks of the month!).

Well done on all your hardcore workouts. I will have to check my form Purple, I wouldn't be surprised if I am not doing it right. I did Speed 2.0 yesterday (under duress, DH made me and I gave him evils throughout but ultimately felt better for it). Not sure what to do today. Have signed up for a walking challenge in June (26 miles in 12 hours) and going to do 8-10 miles after work on Thursday. Looking forward to a different type of fitness challenge but using T25 as cross training. Going to do some lunchtime walks as well. I am hoping that it will give me a bit of a lift and perhaps get me to shift the mystical last half stone (more like stone at the moment!).

Oh yay you found us Sarah. I've pm'ed spooky.

I am a good few lbs heavier and have insatiable food cravings around TOTM too - guess it's pretty common.

Purple were your arms too wide or too far forward? In your possible defence, I think Shaun T's plank position for a lot of T25 is much wider in the arms than in other dvds/standard plank, presumably because he does a lot of plank-to-push-up stuff, in eg TBC. So maybe that is what you've been used to?

Speed 1.0 done. Toe not happy. Sad

Well done all on work outs - glad we've been found (except for Spooky - where are you?)

Weighed myself today - wasn't supposed to until 7 days was up on Thursday but felt light and indeed have gone down a kg since re-starting regime and the Zone (now modified to be the Cancer Zone) and am below 55kg again - phew!

I can REALLY recommend you all switching it up to some strength work - I feel like a new woman using muscles I haven't moved for a year by doing P90 instead of Insanity for a bit.

Is anyone doing Max Insanity 30 at the moment?

Report
Purpleraindeer · 12/05/2015 19:57

I'm doing max30 boobz. Only have 2 weeks to go to have finished the schedule but will then go back and do a max30/t25 hybrid I think as it's still kicking my @ss even after 6 weeks. There are 2 strength work outs a week in max30 (but not with weights) and I have enjoyed getting stronger but not actually doing the work outs so p90x is not for me at the mo. Glad you're enjoying it!
Jackster - I think my arms were both too wide and too far forward. Double bad!
And poppy - i meant to say that surely 3lbs of weight gain in 2 days is likely to be a lot of water weight rather than anything else? Why don't you weigh yourself again mid week. 3lbs is a MASSIVE calorie surplus so you'd have had to been eating a lot of cake to manage that! I find I 'gain' weight if I've had a salty takeaway and then the next day it's gone.

My DH does t25 and he daren't take a day off incase Shaun T hunts him down. True story.

Is it worth starting? I'm thinking about it but couldn't commit to every day, would that matter?

Report
Sarahlouboo · 12/05/2015 20:00

P.s. Agree with Purple Yumyum re the "weight" gain - must be water retention! I frequently gain and lose the same couple of lbs depending how many carbs/how much salty food and alcohol I eat.

I'm on week 2 of month 2 of insanity max 30. Have lost inches but still have flabby tum!

Am thinking of doing extreme 21 day fix in the hope that my tum will melt away whilst I eat from small plastic containers!

Hello Grin Grin

jackster thanks for the PM, was really starting to wonder why no one had posted since yesterday lunchtime - hadn't even realised we were so close to 1000 posts Shock

Day off today as been at work all day and then had to take MIL out for tea as it was her birthday so pigged out Blush

I love strength work (but only the stuff with weights) and not keen on cardio stuff - it is funny how we are all different! That is why I think I will enjoy gamma as from what I have seen, there is quite a lot of weights work.

Hey guys, glad everybody has found the new thread, Spooky hurry up and find us!!! :)

I did Insanity Power and Resistance today, it's was good fun. Have to agree with Boobz re combining strength and cardio, I've found that with insanity I was losing weight but still looked quite flabby, P90X really works muscles deep down and tones you up. I'm so glad I've found the hybrid, I think it's a perfect combo.

Re TOTM I'm glad I'm not the only one! I've been reading about it recently, it seems you can have problems with water retention not just before the period but also during ovulation time. This month I've found this definitlely applies to me :( My weight keeps fluctuating within 1 kg range and it seems I only get about one week a month when I see true representation of my weight. Such a pain!

Boobz, no wonder you are pooped, I still can't believe you did a double!!!

Madame, hello and welcome :) I've heard of 21 day fix, it might be a good idea for the purposes of healthy eating but I think since you've already done Max30 you might find the workouts too easy...I might be mistaken though

Totally agree about the TOTM - I bloat SO much just before my period starts and for the first couple of days. I have to wear my proper fat clothes then Grin

I am doing the TDEE diet - whilst I don't have any scales so I have no idea about weight, I wore a skirt for work today that I noticed was definitely looser round the waist so I am hopeful about the diet and t25!

Have you bought a pull up bar yet Fullsteam? Or moved to a house which has proper door ways so you can put one up?

Did those sneaky lunges today. And the wall squats, they KILL.
