Marking place for tomorrow which will be week 6 of Body Rev for me - nearly half way through!

Ohhhhh shiny new thread Smile thanks imogen Flowers

Well I did No More Trouble Zones today....i loooove it Grin but I really don't think I can fit it in during the week, would it be ok to do it at weekends only?? But jeez it's such a good workout, really like how it's in circuits, and really like the exercises for the old bingo wings, can find them hurting a bit already!!! It has a good few moves from all 3 levels of the shread, and mainly the ones I like which is great, anyway you get the picture! I liked it!

Back to Level 2 tomorrow though, not giving up on it yet!

Hey granny welcome back, you've been missed Wink

Thanks for the new thread Imogen.

Started RI30 W4 today and it's my favourite - so much better than W3. It is easier to follow and I think the exercises are better as well. Usually Day 1 is quite low impact for me as I'm learning the new moves but I've really worked out on this one!

Can't do scissor jumps though. Just about got one going and the pelvic floor gave me a warning so I marched on the spot instead.

Thanks from me as well Imogen and for the welcome back MrsSteven. No hiding for me behind a shiny new thread!

D2L1 30DS done. I ache in places I didn't know I could ache. Finding the anterior arm raises with lateral lunges very very hard. Another 10 min run/jog afterwards. Windy but not cold like yesterday and sun was setting so a positive finish.

UmBongo - hope your second day went well.

Am I thinking too far ahead in considering RI30 or NMTZ?

Imogen Trousers and a blouse are my uniform, too, but I feel the need to buy new clothes. When realistically they will not know I am wearing my normal everyday work clothes.

Thanks for the good wishes MrsSteven.

I could not exercise today, but had really long walks.

grannygrotts RI30 is certainly a good option if you have limited time and like the format of the Shred.

May have to modify tomorrow's shred. Or send DH out to buy me one of those chairs that tips you out Grin. My quads are wrecked. How did that happen?

Gingercat Am looking at the BeFit youtube channel to see what I can download. The NMTZ looks horrendous challenging. Not found RI30 yet. Will keep looking.

Does anyone subscribe to the BeFit channel? Is there any benefit - i.e. losing those annoying ad boxes?

Body Rev Phase 2 week 6 workout 5. Oof. Cat came and sat on me again during the tricep dips. And it annoys me that as Jillian is telling us to bend at the knee, not the waist, during the one-legged squats, there's someone behind her who's not bending her leg at all.

grannygrotts, those side lunges with arm raises are evil - if you're really struggling you can just raise one arm each side instead of both, so that you're not pounding both arms all the time. Thinking ahead, if you've got plenty of time I really like NMTZ: it isn't too hard on the joints, it's really effective and there isn't any cardio except in the warmup. But it takes 50 minutes from start to finish: Ripped in 30 is a lot quicker.

Trenzalor, glad you're finding Ripped L4 better than L3. I can't do those scissor hops either: they really hurt my knees. I assume I must be twisting as I come up to bring my feet together and then landing with the knee slightly out of alignment.

Where's that humble pie? So I moaned about RI30 W3... And I've measured and I've lost parts of inches across my body (mainly torso). Bearing in mind I've already shrunk significantly and these are therefore stubborn inches...

Jillian, I'm sorry. I will never doubt you again!

I thought I would join in as I have been following these threads for a while.

I am a Jillian convert, although I hate exercise. I have also been using MFP and have lost 34 lbs. I have gone from a dress size 14/16 to 10/12.

Since January I have completed 30 Day Shred and I now do a combination of No More Trouble Zones and alternate different ones from 30DS (my favourite being Level 2).

I have purchased Ripped in 30 which I will start in June in preparation for my holiday in August.

I plan to do NMTZ today.

Well done on your losses Callow and Trenzalor - good to know the effort's worth it.

Imogen - thanks for confirming the side lunges with weights are evil - it does make me feel better. Have downloaded NMTZ but it looks a lot more demanding than 30DS, so I may save that for next month. I have no problem with the cardio in 30DS so far - in fact it's a welcome respite from the strength exercises.

My quads are not quite so achey today as yesterday, thank goodness, so I'll do D3L1 later on today and probably take a rest day tomorrow.

I couldn't do the arms on the side lunges granny I don't know why they are soooo hard! I just did the legs in the end and flapped my arms up sans weights.

Hi all MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey suggested I come on over here. I am also on the 5:2 thread and between that and Jillian's I hope to be in decent shape for the summer. Used the 30DS last year but did it over 60 days instead of 30 and still got decent results. Now I am assaulting this fat from all angles so hoping for even better results. I love the 30ds but have arthritis in my knees so struggled with it a bit. This time I am doing the 30D beginner shred and finding it much easier on the joints. I am currently on Level 2 day 6 and my waist looks much better already.

Hello everyone, I'd love to join. Have done the 30DS, NMTZ and BFBM. I've just started Killer Body and will be doing the levels on rotation for the next 30 days. Steadily losing weight with MyFitnessPal but also really trying to improve my fitness levels and tone up all over.

Beagle how is Killer Body? I've got it waiting for after Body Revolution.

I really like the upper body and lower body levels, but I struggled with the core level. They're all about 30 minutes long, have 4 circuits with 1 minute of high itensity training inbetween each circuit. Some of the ab moves were a bit difficult, but with practice I hope to get better.

D3L1 30DS done, with 1.4 mile run afterwards, although it felt much much further than that. Today is a FD for me, so surprised that JM didn't seem any harder than yesterday, although the left quad in the side lunges was quite tight.

Hello to everyone new this weekend. Beagle very interested to hear how you get on with your JM rotation. Still considering which dvd(s) to buy as I use (legal) downloads at the moment, but the lip synch today was about a 10 seconds out which was very disconcerting.

Thanks for the new thread. Gosh everyone has been busy today.

Body Rev, phase 1, week 3, workout 3 second time. I am really struggling with the plank to crescent move and the crab tricep dips, I don't think I am flexible enough. Any tips Imogen? Love the abs moves in these two workouts though.

Day off yesterday as I went swimming instead. I do feel like I have some momentum now though.

Day 3 level 1 shred today - knackered, but managed it, did a short walk this afternoon with some carrying of 3yr dd too so it all helps.

I'm planning to start the couch to 5k again in a week or so, and maybe do the shred on the rest days from running, that way I'll hopefully get fit, lose weight and Jillian can help tone up the flabby bits.

Just twigged there's a new thread, I'll try to catch up later but just log that I did KB&T L3. Mostly not too bad though my 'rock star/cannon ball' set is truly pathetic.

Hello, I'd love to join you to hopefully make me keep at it and not give up after day 3 Grin

Just done D2 L1 30DS and I'm aching, but determined to do day 3 tomorrow. Does it get less knackering if you stick at it?

Oh and I'm using baked bean tins instead of weights, do I need to go out and buy some?

Report
callow · 05/05/2015 06:56

Hi Ruddy

I used tins of beans when I first started off, then got some 2kg weights around L3. I have just brought some 1kg weights as well as I wasn't able to do some of the upper body moves well with 2kgs.

The aching disappears eventually, it is the memory of that keeps me going on. I don't get sore now, but I know if I stopped I would do if I started again.

Body Rev phase 2 week 6 workout 6 done here. No real tips, I'm afraid, Lambzig - I struggle with the plank to crescent, though in my case I think it's co-ordination rather than flexibility (I tend to get my foot caught on my mat as I bring it up Blush). With the crab tricep dips, does it help to bring your feet closer to your bum?

standingonlego, I'm no expert, but if you're doing other cardio and have time for a longer workout, NMTZ is really good. Ripped is shorter, and is in the same format as Shred if you like that. Otherwise I like Killer Abs, which divides opinion on here, and Yoga Inferno seemed pretty effective when I did it earlier in the year.

Welcome, RuddyHell. It absolutely gets easier: the first three or four days are the worst by far. If the baked bean tins are reasonably challenging at the moment, maybe stick at it for a couple of weeks and then invest in a set or two of weights. The first time I did the Shred I started with tins of tomatoes and then switched to 1 kg weights when I got to level 2.
