Tummy Toning

Hello All

I'm after some advice on toning my tummy. I weigh 12st and am about 5'7". I've had two DCs (5 and 2). I practice yoga once a week at a class and then 2/3 times a week a home for 20mins. I try to eat healthily (but it could be better i guess), walk as much as I can and take the stairs rather than the lift. My calf muscles and arms are quite firm.

BUT I just can't tone my tummy. It's really depressing. I have about 20mins a night (whilst I'm upstairs waiting for dc to go to sleep) where I could do some exercises.

What could I do? TIA

Hi Tadpole:)
have you tried searching you tube for ab toning video's?
there really are loads to chose from, if you have any muscle separation then it'd prob be best to do some research on how best to deal with it

Thank you Suzanne. I don't think I had any separation. I've looked at YouTube but as you said there are so many and I've never really exercised like that before so get confused with the sheer amount Blush

I do planks and side planks. I hate sit ups and I also still have a bit of muscle separation so they're not recommended. I find the plank really effective. I also do them on the power plate at the gym.

DH has purchased himself a slendatone. He feels that he's had some improvement in a week or so. However, I'll repeat what a personal trainer once told me: you might well have a six pack, but no one will notice it if you store fat on top.

I'm not sure what to suggest because I dont know what exercise 'genre' you prefer but you might just search something like beginner ab exercises and browse through, have a little go at the ones you like the look of.
Pilates and yoga based channels might be good ones to look at.
