I got a Fitbit One for Christmas. It is brilliant!
I have walked over 70 miles since I got it.

Thanks hedwig. I am thick as. Are Fitbit's expensive? Thick as and no idea about anything to do with exercise! Thanks.

Oh well done on 70 miles! What is that? 4 weeks, 18 miles a week.

My worry is I spend a fortune on one and then the novelty wears off after a couple of weeks. I just started couch to 5k today so want something that measures the steps I take every day.

Hedwig, do you aim to increase your steps everyday? I don't think I would always have the time to try and increase my steps everyday.

Dsis gave me a FitBit flex for my birthday - it was a bit if a FFS to set up but is great. I am not sure how much it cost, but think it is around the £80 mark.

My Fitbit was about £70. The Fitbit Zip is a slightly simpler, cheaper model at about £40.
I used several Pedometer apps on my phone to see if I would keep up the exercise. The best one was the Runtastic pedometer.

I forgot to say - if you have a FitBit, and you know other people with them, you can link up with them, so you can all encourage each other.

My dsis has one, and has sent me a FitBit friend request - my big concern is that she is so much more fit and active than me, I worry that she will be judging me for how few steps I take - but that is partly my insecurities (only partly - she does have 'form' for being a bit superior).
