Sports bra

I am pretty big breasted. I'm also of the droopy -have-no-real-shape group of breasts.
I want to take up running.
I am still breast feeding so I need a good running/sport bra.

In day to day life I have not been able to find a bra that fits well enough to actually completely hold my breasts as that's how shapeless and sort of massless they are Sad

Any help would be greatly appreciated I may have to resort to wrapping myself up in muslin wraps

I am a big fan of the Panache sport underwired (30HH but wear the H just fine)

Get fitted at bravissimo - they were good

Royce do excellent sports bras. I'm big and they keep my boobs in place. The first couple of times you feel like you are wriggling into it, but they are comfy.

The only downside is that they are hot. None of that let's you breathe sales stuff. They hold the girls in place.

That's what I need. Firmly being held in place!! Haha.

Thanks very much. I'll have a look at a few suggestions.

I used to get to bravissimo but my nearest is just off Oxford street and I can't face going with a 17wk old and 2.5 yr old.... Confused

I'll jump on the Panache bandwagon! I have had a horrible time with Shock Absorbers, but on the advice of other MNers I'm delighted with my new Panache.

Just looked on amazon. This is the one I have www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B007KZVH7S/ref=mp_s_a_1_19?qid=1421100184&sr=8-19&pi=SL75&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

Make sure that you get a snug fit or you will have boobies bobbing around.

I got my panache one from sweatshop online as it was cheaper

Imo, the only sports bra that completely immobilises my boobs is the Ennel.

I have tried every brand on the market and the Ennel is the only one that I don't have to 'double bag'. (I'm a 32DD, so not massive)

I'm going to contradict some of you a bit if you don't mind Grin

If you struggle to control your boobs in a regular bra, then the Panache sports bra may not be right for you.

Underwired sports bras are best on firmer breasts or those that are difficult to squash down, as they encapsulate the breasts and hold them in place that way. Non wired sports bras are the real squashers!

Very large and unruly boobs -did I really just type that!- may need a bit of both. I often recommend wearing one of your older wired bras to encapsulate if two sports bras sounds too pricey, and then adding a compression/non wired one on top. The two I've found with most coverage and support for that are the Shock Absorber D+ Max which goes up to a H cup (you'll need to go up a band if you want to breathe too) and the Royce Impact Free which finishes at K and is visually more like a crop top.

Hope that helps Smile

Surely wearing two bras in really uncomfortable? I have the freya active at the moment, but will probably try the panache one next. I'm a 34GG, and whilst they don't move, and I can fine in kit, I have scarring to my chest which is aggravated by the band, so I'm hoping for a slightly softer or deeper band, Either that, or always have to wear a band aid.

I find the wires a bit wide in the Freya which is why I prefer the panache

Looking into the panache and ive read a few reviews that say handwash only?

it does say that but I still wash in the machine with my other ones and they seem to be surviving

Almost all bras are handwash only, technically. Machine washing reduces the lifespan. That said, I am guilty of machine washing mine-i use a laundry bah and wash them at 30

Me again: how well do they fit? Standard bra size? Or do they have their own measuring system.
I've been inherit website but it asked me to email them with any questions instead of giving a sizing chart or fitting guide.

Thanks anyone that can shed some (more) light!

my panache bra is my normal size and I got it from www.sweatshop.co.uk/

Report
StatisticallyChallenged · 19/01/2015 17:06

Fairly standard on me, I can get away with a cup size lower than I wear in other Panache but would suggest just getting normal size. The band will be snug, but still wearable I would say. It needs to be [grin[

amazon had them on sale last week, I got a couple for £19 each

Little my BuggyFit Trainer recommended wearing a normal nursing bra with a front fastening sports bra over the top. I wore an anita underwired nursing bra with the sportjock extra zip over the top.
I Am a 34GG and this system worked really well and it meant I Could easily bf at the end /during the class if i needed to.

In a million years I would not buy bras from m and s as the sizing is all to cock, but I find their sports bras really good! I am a 30e , not huge busted, I go up to a 32e in the sports bra. They wash really well too.
