Gosh mitchy that's a lot of layers! Where do you live?! I had on today full length tight, pair of shorts over, long sleeved top, polartec vest, running jacket (good at keeping wind off but useless in the rain), gloves and warmish socks. That's for temps around 3 degrees here today, may need a buff and a hat if we get the cold winter they're promising!

in Suffolk

there was frost earlier, we went out about 10am when the sun had burnt most of it off but FUCK ME it was cold

can't tolerate cold, on Saturday I was still shivering 7 miles in to a 10 mile run at a respectable (for me) pace (10:00) Blush

am a total wuss

Not attempted a run this month yet. Had some virus! I'm NEVER ill. Ever. But this has knocked me sidewards. Have lost motivation so hoping reading this thread will get me back out there

No running today, but double cycling-I arrived at the station this morning to find my bike lock was at home, which meant another 3 mile round trip to collect it. And I missed my trainAngry Angry Angry and consequently ran late all day.

I had stretchy thing under my long sleeved top and long running tights. Plus gloves but have poor circulation so need them. I don't like jackets as they always seem to get in the way. Did wear one when I did a park run in driving snow in March 2013 though Grin

Hello, marking my place even though I'm being a lazy arse this week.
So far I've done 5k and a pilates class Blush

However, DS has done playgym, playgroup, monkey music and today is soft play (my first time!). Sad isn't it. When you 19mo gas a better social life than you?!

Aah, ok new thread.

I thought I'd lost you all there Grin I rebooted my iPad because my posts weren't showing up Blush

I did 4.1 last night, cold and wet temp training but loved it.

4.6 miles speed work session from me from last night. Hard work but I need to be able to keep up with DS :)

191.5 with mine and TheBigBum's. Not sure if yours was added further down Thursday.

Checking in on the new thread, no running to add, two agonising personal training sessions instead - hours of squats, lunges, burpees and planks. Intend to stretch it all out on my Sunday run!

Well I wussed out last night, but I've just done a really enjoyable 3.7 miles under an incredible full moon. Vest and long sleeved running top was the way forward clothes wise. 195.2

Morning all, I've got a double today - a spot of parkrun tourism and then a 5 mile cross country run with a bit of a splash at the end!! Should be fun. I've got the inlaws up so itight mean a long long long run tomorrow to macdonalds for a coffee

What is everyone up to this weekend?

Report
golemmings · 08/11/2014 08:19

Karatekimmi are you doing the same xc run as me? Are you local? Where are you Park running?

I've pulled something in my hip. It's tight at the front and gets tighter if I rotate my foot out and as I rock over it when walking. For some reason it hadn't hurt when running until last Wednesday and I bailed at 5k.
With a 5mi xc race today (finishing through a pond) and a 9mi hilly time trial next week what is the best way to stretch it and warm it up?

I feel so horribly deprived and grumpy this week but calf has almost completely stopped whingeing so have done the right thing

might manage a little one this morning before excitement of race tomorrow (which am not racing, am pacing friend at 11:00 ish) can't believe how anxious I feel about pooing myself (NEVER HAPPENED) or falling over (NEVER HAPPENED) or coming in last (DON'T REALLY CARE) was ok until they announced at club run on Tues that over 400 people had already entered and with on the day entries might reach our limit of 500

thought there were only about 60 people doing it

198.3 after my run this am and it's a PB - finally made it under 30 mins for a 5k! When the mapmyrun lady said 29:24 I couldn't believe it! Very chuffed, that's an improvement of 50 seconds in 7 months. Not bad for an old slow person. Off to eat weight in gluten free biscuits.

Congratulations emummy!

2.5 miles for me this morning. Felt really knackering!

It's my birthday on Monday though so maybe I can blame my age Grin

Off now to drink cider and eat too much! Happy weekend all.
