Would love a buddy so we can motivate each other.

I have put a stone on since Christmas so now I have two stones to lose. I find I can lose weight initially but all the plans I have tried are not sustainable for various reasons and while the last one I tried did help me to lose a stone I was stuck for months and now I have put weight on and it isn't working even though I feel I was following it correctly.

I need to take control and get this weight off as I am starting to hate myself again and that is not good for me emotionally as it leads to all sorts of trouble.

I would appreciate the reality of the shred with so much to lose, ie how long will it take to see results and the best way to eat while on this plan.

I am also starting two days a week with no sugar and one without bread which I will increase as I know sugar is bad but also I would still want to eat chocolate occasionally.

Bumping for you! I don't have the shred but do some weight exercises now and then

Thanks.

I did weights as part of it but used a tin of beans and a tin of soup Grin.

That's what I started with. DP is quite serious with weight training and gave me his "lightest" dumbells.

Took me weeks before I was strong enough to properly exercise with them Grin

DH used to have weights. It is a shame he got rid Grin.

I am so tired this afternoon and I am blaming the shred, the heat and the fact I woke at 5.50am. First day of the holidays and I didn't get a lie in.

So far -

3 accidents/injuries.
1 time out on the step.
3 tellings off.
3 sibling arguments.
1 successful lunch.

Day two and I did the shred again. A couple of times I just had to stop but I am hoping it will get easier.

Anyone who has been doing it, can you tell me what day it finally got a bit easier?

I'm trying to remember when it got easier - maybe day 4? The first couple of days are extra tough because you're still trying to learn the exercises. I always found the first cardio circuit a killer (jumping jacks + jump rope = calves on fire). I swapped butt kicks and jump rope around in the end, which helped me massively.

Keep going - you will certainly feel the benefit. I think I might be a little but addicted - I did L2D6 yesterday, and I'm already wondering which JM DVD to try once I've finished the shred.

I see results after a couple of weeks (but am not two stone overweight) and find it gets noticeably easier on day 3.

They say you can't out train a bad diet so the steps you are taking there will help a lot.

I've been looking at my diet more for about a month using my fitness pal. I've cut out most sugar, snacks and alcohol and tried to reduce bread. I'm doing a mixture of shred and c25k running on top and have dropped half a stone. I feel so much better for all of it.

Oubliette, six week six pack next. Brilliant.

Day 4/5 onwards and you'll feel better. Have you spotted Natalie cheating yet?

I don't have a bad diet. I just don't eat the right amount.

Haven't spotted any cheating Shock.

Is it okay to do it twice a day?

I have to do another workout afterwards or go for a run as the shred's a bit cardio lite for me. See how you feel.

Natalie not only cheats when she thinks nobody's looking, she also barely bends her legs on the squat punches.

Come and join us over here! Some people are in the early days of the Shred and others have been doing JM workouts for a while. It's really good for motivation and support.

How do any of you have enough concentration whilst shredding to spot cheating??? I'm way too in-the-zone/have too much sweat in my eyes. (Besides the fact I don't look at Natalie that much Blush

I'm on day 15 OP - started out 2.5 stone overweight, have lost a little over half a stone (have been healthy-eating too, though not as exclusively as I meant to) and can DEFINITELY see a difference in my waist/arms/arse. I walk 5 miles a day x5 times a week too, but don't shred more than once a day. After 2-3 days of shredding I was agonisingly stiff, but that went away after day 4.

I have been an on and off shredder (never managed to reach Level 3 Blush). That's probably why I never had much success in terms of weight/ inches loss. However I love that it's just 20 minutes and makes me feel virtuous! I currently have 1kg weights but suspect I could go higher on some of the exercises. Any suggestions re what weights to use for which exercise?
