I've just joined a new gym and am aiming to go 3x per week. I did a beginner's workout I found on the gym website today and am really feeling it, but glad I went and glad I pushed myself.

Any other gym-goers about? What do you do?

Today I did:
10 mins cross trainer
2x12 leg press
2x12 lat pulldown
10 mins bike
2x12 chest press
2x12 seated row
1x10 shoulder press (my shoulders are my weakest body part)
10 mins treadmill

I joined about 4 weeks ago and go between 2-4 times a week.
My routine was generally:
20 minutes treadmill
20 mins bike
10 mins rowing
10 mins stairclimber

Then I spent about 20 mins doing weights. From that I have felt firmer and look more toned but yet to see any weight loss!

I've spent the past week doing the different classes - HIIT, body conditioning, Zumba and power weights and god have I felt it!

I really recommend doing a few classes, it's nice to mix your routine up a bit

Oh I've done classes at previous gyms and loved them, need to get in a routine with this one and figure out when the classes I want are on.

They do have virtual spinning, which is good - if there's no class, you can go in and set a video class going to cycle along to. I like spinning so will no doubt make use of that.

That workout seemed like such a good idea yesterday... today, I'm feeling it, particularly in my shoulders/chest.

The things I do to lose weight/tone up. Back in the gym tomorrow though :)

I go about 3 times a week for 45 mins at a time.

I do 30 minutes on the cross trainer, at 10 incline and 10 speed

Then I do a combo of arm weights, squats with weights, press ups and core work. I vary it each time to mix it up,

I'm back at the gym tomorrow, and although I ache today, I actually can't wait.

I enjoy going, I think once I get set in my routine and keep going on certain days, I'll start to really see the work paying off.

I've also booked an induction - I'm hoping that it will shed some light on the TRX harnesses they have. They're supposed to be really good, but I've no idea how to use them.

The gym is brilliant and I love TRX, it's an awesome workout. Get your instructor to show you them and set you a programme on them, you can work every single part of your body on them.

I go every day for about 1hr 50 - I do 10 mins cross trainer or treadmill then about 50 mins on TRX, then use free weights doing chest presses, tricep extensios and dead lifts - then do my ab work out (about 15 mins) and if I have time finish my a bit of cardio and then stretch out. I do the odd bit of cardio blast (say 2 mins) after every set of my trx/weight work.

I had my induction today - was actually more of a mini training session. The man who did it was lovely, asked me what I'd like to get out of the gym, so I told him about my figure skating, and he's shown me some exercises to help with that.

I might have a few sessions with him to work on technique and more exercises, I think.

Didn't get round to TRX, but the squats and deadlifts have killed me enough for today!

I've been lifting heavy with the olympic bar and love it!

Did:
5x5 squats 75kg
5x5 deadlifts 55kg
3x5 clean and press (30kg)
3x5 military press (20kg)
Bench press 5x6 35kg
Bicep curls 5x5 (20kg)
Lunges 3x12 (40kg)

Lifting heavy has been such a revelation. Very addictive.

Well, I had a session with this new personal trainer on Wednesday, and repeated the workout today on my own.

We did:
20 min interval session on the treadmill
5x5 assisted pull ups
1000m row
10 x squats using TRX alternating with 10 x skips (as many sets of both as I could do in 10 minutes - think I managed 9)

Did all that again today, except the last bit, I was just too tired!
