Anyone done the Les Mill's Pump system? Like the apparent lack of cardio..

It is actually considered cardio by some people. Some tracks can raise your heart rate, especially if you have an instructor who races through it all. It does really tone though, my muscles have def increased since doing it. I normally do it 2-3 times a week though.

If you use lighter weights it probably will be more like cardio

Pump is fab, I love it although not done it for a while as I am into the gym at the moment.

The only downside of pump for me is I don't think the abs section is enough - just a last thought for 3 mins at the end of the session. Other than that it's pure genius :)

I go to classes - I didn't think they were available to buy in the UK.

It would be very expensive, you would need a set and then I generally use a couple of sets of dumbells, sometimes some extras for the bar too.

I wouldn't really advise it tbh. Far better, at least to start with to go to a class and learn to lift properly with good form, and the class environment is motivating and will help you push further. No way I could have self taught at home without all the little tips from trainers on correct form.

I've seen the dvd & dumbbell set advertised on night time sky tv (have a 10wk old baby here!!). It's expensive but options available to pay in instalments….

I go once a week and have done for about 5 years now. You start off light and then once you get the proper technique you can start building up the weights. I enjoy it - several of the tracks will raise your heart rate and make you sweat so dont think its totally non cardio.

www.beachbody.co.uk/product/fitness-training/les-mills-pump-workout.do -looks like you can buy it (£19.95 then 3 x £49.95 payments).
