Right, lets find all the park runners we have on here. I did my first park run on sat.

I am very impressed with my time of 33.18 smile I am ridiculously pleased with myself.

So park runners, where are you?

We need to fill up this thread before we all move over...

Cinnamon that's fabulous. And I was pleased with 11 miles in 2 hours smile

IsThat - you build up to the long runs the same way as you build up to running 5K, jut adding a mile or two at a time. My marathon plan has been 20 weeks of gradually getting longer.

Thank you for the new thread!

IsThatTrue Sun 27-Oct-13 18:39:09

new thread here

Well done on your run cinamon I am completely in awe of all these long distances!

MelanieCheeks Sun 27-Oct-13 18:00:03

Yay, Cinnamon, your times look brilliant!

cinnamongreyhound Sun 27-Oct-13 17:20:54

So... I went out for 11 miles today and hadn't quite planned my route. I managed to do 12.5miles in 1hr 58mins, feel ready for my half now smile

And parkrun results were sorted, not only did the scanner not scan the barcode a properly, the token hander outer dropped one and the RD hadn't cleared the scanner from last week so miraculous they were all right!

Well done on the running everyone! I'm feeling slightly less shit more human now. Paracetamol is great stuff.

I'm planning a longer run in the morning to make up for it!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree Sat 26-Oct-13 18:47:05

Yay! Some great running/crawling wink this week. Well done Melanie, Eugene and jchoc! Hope you are feeling better IsThat!

No PB for me - the path was very slippery and covered with leaves, so we got off to a slow start and I never got it back. My time was 29:12, and DS1 was 26:26.

jchocchip Sat 26-Oct-13 18:45:02

grin at the songs! We were luckier with the weather, almost ideal running conditions, cool and dry. Getting windier now though, think we could be in for some weather tonight!

EugenesAxe Sat 26-Oct-13 17:58:56

jchocchip - right there on the music, although my 'shuffle' this week could have been better.... about 3km in (when the rain was heavier and I was slipping all over the place) I got 'Open' by The Cure, including the lyrics 'And I can't seem to think, where this is, who I am, why I'm keeping this going keep pouring it out, keep pouring it down, and the way the rain comes down hard... that's the way I feel inside' hmm

Then right at the end it shuffled to 'She is Suffering' by the Manics! I thought give me a break, songs!

jchocchip Sat 26-Oct-13 17:02:54

Yay eugenesaxe! A pb that's brilliant. Try and take.anothet 10 secs off.each week and you could be in for a marathon place ! grin I'm not usually last these days, there are.people slower than me!! shock But I do want to get faster so have got mp3 player sorted out and going to do midweek runs with intervals. Used runkeeper this week and was quite motivated by the split times.

EugenesAxe Sat 26-Oct-13 15:50:17

Nice one Melanie! And mega grin at your hog roast comment.

I feel better this week as I had a few firsts - I wasn't last, I broke 40 mins and got a new PB dropping 54 secs. So I'm still running a 40 min 5k but now it's slightly disguised as 39:30.

Well done to everyone! jchocchip nothing wrong with last place (without sounding a hypocrite; it was just nice for a change!). As everyone said to me last week we still got up and did it!

IsThat - hope you feel better. Have a nice mid afternoon beer to take the edge off (I am really not an alcoholic; this really worked for me though one New Years Day).

jchocchip Sat 26-Oct-13 15:19:38

Yay Melanie thanks

MelanieCheeks Sat 26-Oct-13 15:08:41

Ohmygogohmygodohmygod! I smashed my previous time and came in at 27.25, I've gone from number 499 on the best times list to number 445, my age graded result has gone from 245 to 202, and I'm top of the female points table! You want to see how wide my smile is today:-)
