Burpees challenge anyone?

I hate and loathe them. I mean really hate them. I could honestly cry sometimes when my trainer gives me a workout involving a certain number of burpees because it takes me eleventy million times longer to complete it than every one else.

I figure if I hate them that much, they must be really good for me and if I get better at them, I will hate them less.

I am told they're excellent cardio and whole body toning exercises and because they use all of your major muscle groups at once they burn more calories than most other exercises.

I've decided that in order to get better at them, I will do ten burpees each morning and night for a week, then 15 burpees the next week, then 20 etc. Until I can comfortably do 50 in a row without wanting to cry or pass out.

Does anyone wanna join me?

No! A bastard is a press up followed by a squat trust followed by a star jump. They are far worse than burpees.

You may not love burpees but your body will love you back!

See I think a proper burpee is what you describe as a bastard Purple. Didn't used to but having checked proper form on YouTube, (important not to injure your back) all decent proponents seem to be incorporating the push up Confused. Yes, they are hard core and very effective. I can just about manage ten before collapsing. 50 sounds utterly impossible Grin

OP I'm not sure you're going to get many takers on this one, but as I am on holiday and crap at getting workouts in, I will join you, but they have to be push up burpees, yes?
