Hi, my dvd arrived in the post this morning and day 1 is done and dusted :D I'm aiming to do it every day with no rest days, but I'll see how I go. I've also just finished week 1 of C25K, so it'll be interesting to see how I get on with both in one day!
Nice to have others to do it with smile

My DVD is in the post but I'm terrified, have heard its so hardcore!

What's the minimum number of times a week you need to do it to make it worthwhile?

Ideally you're meant to do it every day for 30 days, but I know some people have 1 or 2 rest days per week. I'm going to try and do it every day, but tbh I think whatever you do is better than doing nothing - it just depends how quickly you're wanting results.
I found the first day really tough, the second day even worse as I had achey muscles from the day before and I had already gone for a run that morning. I did day 3 today though and it definitely seemed easier than both previous workouts. I don't know if that's me starting to see results already or...? I have also been doing C25K and eating a lot healthier though so it is probably a mix of all combined wink

Hi ladies! I started on 1 June.. Haven't missed a day yet smug face

How are you all getting on? Do you think it'll work? Only 20 mins?

I have a ton to lose (ideally 5 stone, but I'll settle for 3)

I started on 3rd June - haven't missed a day yet either grin . I didn't actually weigh myself before I started but I know roughly what I am and I have a target weight. I want to lose a couple of stone ideally. I did take my measurements though just to see if it's working. I'll probably re-measure between levels.
I'm currently using heinz tomato soup cans - they aren't very heavy but I'm pretty skint atm and would consider weights a 'luxury' blush . So heinz will have to do for now!
Just finished day 4 and it seemed slightly easier than the previous workouts so it seems to be doing something at least!

Snap, I didn't weigh in either, but I do feel much better alreadysmile

I'm using 500ml evian bottles filled with water!!

I'll check in after the weekend, see if we've managed to be good xx

I'm doing it too. I need a kick start to my fitness as I've had a couple of months off learning to drive and while I've still been walking and cycling everywhere and doing the odd run where I can, I need something to get me back into proper exercise. I've done it all the way through a few times before and it is effective.

If find it a bit cardio-lite so I either do two levels back to back or go for a run afterwards.

My weights are 5k but first time I ever did it they were 3k. I think if you can get hold of proper weights, they make all the difference.

Well, I've been doing it on and off for 16 months its just not practical for me to do it everyday and to be quite frank, it took for nearly 1 year to not feel utterly exhausted and suffer for days after. I wouldnt worry about the 10 days of levels I feel you should be able to complete each level well before moving on. I do level 2 now but havent done it for 2 weeks. My weight lose hasnt been great but my level of fitness has improved and stamina which is also my main reason for doing it. I started on no weights now I use 1.5kg.

I found after a few days the boredom kicked in and I alternate with other DVDs such as Davina's Intense or The Firm. As long as you work out on as many days as you can makes no difference what DVD it is.

bacon, you might be surprised though, level 3 of the Shred is much easier than level 2 imo. But that's because I find level 2 is quite knee intensive. The plyometric training (jumping) in it can be quite tricky and if you lose form, the potential for injury is quite high.

Can I also join you please? I started at the beginning of the month but have only exercised every other day. I need the motivation to stick with it every day. I am also just using tins for now as weights but feel that I should buy proper heavier weights as my arms are not feeling the exercises (unlike my legs - ouch!).

Good morning! So, how is everyone getting on? I still have days when I don't get the chance to do the shred (it's just 20 minutes long, I know... blush) but it is definitely getting easier, even with proper (light!) weights. I might move to level 2 today if I find the courage.

I've done it a couple of times now, not as bad as I thought although DH did it with me and had to correct my posture a few times! So there was quite a lot of concentrating.

I think it will get a bit repetitive so going to alternate with exercise classes and swimming. Hopefully I'll see results soon!

I just found this message, I have just done my shred for the second time, though with cans of baked beans as I don't have any weights.
Today was easier than Tuesday, I'm hoping I can persuade myself to get out of bed and do it early tomorrow.
The last time I attempted it, I only did it once but I was going to the gym regularly, this time I have no gym membership and less than 9 weeks to go until my holiday.
I'm combining it with Mfp - I've been entering it as circuit training, anyone else on Mfp too?

Yay me! I got up at 6.30 this morning to do it the third time! It's getting easier. Though I am about to ruin my efforts with a big weekend

I'm doing it too. Alongside c25k. Trying to lose a stone. Did it last year and loved it, but I can't do it every days as it buggers my knees up. I don't find I lose weight with it so I'm hoping my running will help.

Lynca - we both seem to be doing shred and c25k. Perhaps we can motivate each other!

Hi Bakingnovice smile I have to admit I've missed a few days of shred blush I haven't missed any of my runs though and I've managed to keep up with each session - and I've found my trousers are now falling down as I run! lol grin How're you getting on?

I did shred today. Doing last run of wk 1 tmrw. I feel better doing both. Are you dieting too? I'm doing 5:2 but losses are really slow. Well done on clothes feeling loose! What week are you on?

I'm doing this! So glad i've found this thread.

I'm on day 7 today of level one.

The first three days were unbearable. I was so out of breath. However, last night's was much more manageable.

i think maybe my handweights are too heavy though. So i might need to buy lighter ones, as i struggle to do the side lunge/hand weight exercise all the way through without pausing for a second or two. They are currently 1.5kg. Is that heavy of am i just a weakling?

Anyway, i've been on a 1200-1500cal diet since April. I was 12 stone on the 1st of April and now i weigh - as of this morning - 9stone 13lbs! My BMI has gone from 26 to 21.

Since April, i've been doing half an hour on my exercise bike an evening.

But the weight loss has really slowed down recently, and I'm very untoned, which is why i decided to try 30 day shred.

I took measurements on my first day of my waist and 'love handles'.

Waist - 28inches
Not quite my hips (across my belly button) - 34 inches.

Will be interesting to see if i lose anything.

Baking I'm starting week 4 tomorrow, really enjoying it and I can feel myself improving every week smile I haven't really been dieting, just eating a lot healthier as I had a very poor diet before I started all this at the end of May, and I'm feeling a lot better for it smile
