Would anyone like to join me doing the squat challenge?

I've just started the squat challenge tonight. The aim is in 30 days to get you doing 250 squats. Anyone else up for it? I did the first 50 today, didn't realise it would be so hard, but then, I am unfit grin

Day 1 - 50 squats
Day 2 - 55 squats
Day 3- 60 squats
Day 4 - Rest
Day 5 - 70 squats
Day 6 - 75 squats
Day 7 - 80 squats
Day 8 - Rest
Day 9- 100 squats
Day 10 - 105 squats
Day 11 - 110 squats
Day 12 - Rest
Day 13 - 130 squats
Day 14 - 135 squats
Day 15 - 140 squats
Day 16 - Rest
Day 17 - 150 squats
Day 18 - 155 squats
Day 19 - 160 squats
Day 20 - Rest
Day 21 - 180 squats
Day 22 - 185 squats
Day 23 - 190 squats
Day 24 - Rest
Day 25 - 220 squats
Day 26 - 225 squats
Day 27 - 230 squats
Day 28 - Rest
Day 29 - 240 squats
Day 30 - 250 squats

Running was hard tonight, but the fact that I'm feeling it must mean its doing some good, right?

I just remembered about this after I went to bed, so, got back up and did my 55 squats! grin

marking my place. will start tomorrow as im in bed & Dh is asleep. gives me time to you tube squats grin

did my first post baby run tonight so i'm up for this as i was horrified at the amount of wobbling whilst running shock

Well done hairy! I'm now on a rest day, thank goodness. Then onto 70 on Friday. I am going for a run tomorrow, no rest for the wicked!

I think I'm going to restart couch to 5k again on Monday. I caught sight of myself in a mirror at the theatre last night. I had thought when I went out that I looked ok. The mirror begged to differ sad I am a whale.

I don't seem to be able to squat! That can't be right unless am missing a hinge. Dh is going to laugh at me tonight and see where am going wrong. My bum seems to have melted and slid down the rear of my thighs so something needs to happen!

so am i allowed to take a break after say 20 on the basis that i thought my wobbly thighs were going to give way?!

Day 3's 60 squats done. I tried to go lower and stick my arse out and it felt sore so it must be doing something... <crosses fingers, legs etc>

3x 30! Surprised myself, much easier to do if just sneak it in- one set while kettle on, one set before breakfast etc

Totally agree with your approach sal Rest day for me today, then jumping up to 100 tomorrow. Except its not a rest day, I'm going out for a run later smile

I'm in! With caveats...

I need to know the form. Is it squat down, then stand fully straight again each time? Or can we squat down and do 'bounce' type squats?

Also, can you stop for a few seconds now and then, or is it keep going until death?

I do squats at body attack and I freakin hate them, so they must be good.

105 this morning. Bit easier today, think the rest day may do more harm than good, as the first day after them is always really hard.

Ok just done 100 dips & squats- want buns of steel after all this!
Stupid question but what next after make it to 150 or 200 or whatever? Taper back down a bit? Guess body gets used to certain level so effect less but not sustainable to keep upping the number either..
