Found you! So, Utopian I think you're being really really hard on yourself. Realistically you are not going to be able to exercise "properly" until you get to the stage that your DS can be left with your DH or other person for a hour or so. However, you also need to take it pretty easy over the first 3 months. The reason you're not advised to exercise before 6 weeks is because your body (in particular your uterus and cervix) need time to resume their usual positions (6 week check is to ensure this has happened). Also, especially if you're bf, your joints will be looser than they were, so it pays to be careful with high impact sports like running and ball sports that involve repetitive movements. I still have problems with my right shoulder because I started playing competitive tennis when I was bf DC1 and basically injured it serving. At the time I was desperate to get back to it. Now I cant understand why I didn't wait a few more months.

Guess what I'm saying is that while I understand you want to get back to normal, you don't want to accumulate injuries as that will hamper you long term.

Thanks for the link utopia - just marking place while stuffing face

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief Sun 03-Feb-13 11:31:23

Me too. Bad bad weekend. Ds really really hard work. Dd teething. Had 3 glasses of wine last night when they'd gone to bed blush .....and a takeaway pizza. If I've lost any weight this week it will be nothing short of a miracle. 5 days till bikini day.

INeedThatForkOff Sun 03-Feb-13 13:46:10

Utopian, I agree with RichMan. Remember also that your DS will soon grow up and become more independent and settled, so enjoy him while he's tiny and don't worry about the lack of exercise.

utopian99 Sun 03-Feb-13 16:03:11

I don't want to miss time with him, but I get emotionally/mentally twitchy from lack of exercise which can't be good for either of us?

Anyway DH volunteered earlier to snuggle O at home so I could properly hit the gym, although was careful not to do anything risky and only did half and hour. Left him at home with emergency expressed milk stocks, think DH was a bit nervous but he slept the whole time. And I feel so much better mentally and physically!!

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief Mon 04-Feb-13 00:16:07

Cool- I'm glad you got some "me time" and that your DS behaved :-). I've got to get back into exercising now that DD is closer to being one than none (she was 6mo on Saturday). At the moment I do Zumba on Saturday mornings and try to walk everywhere with DD, but I am in danger of becoming "skinny fat" (i.e. not technically overweight but with high body fat/low muscle tone) so I should do some weights a few times a week- I used to be the Kettle Bell Queen but alas no longer.

Anyway, weighed in this morning. Was 10 stone exactly, so have lost 1lb this week and 9lbs since Christmas. 4lbs to go until target. Aiming for 1lb by Friday, when we go on holiday, then maintain.

Focus, Richman, focus!!

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief Mon 04-Feb-13 00:21:17

Just C&P the comments on the other "new thread" to this one so that we dont lose anyone's comments

Iheartpasties well i shall weigh in soon, pretty much dreading it because i had kfc for lunch yesterday and pizza for dinner!!? wtf?? i was ill, so were both dd's. no excuse but there you go it happened.

PennieLane Wow, didn't realise we'd filled a thread. Marking place for weigh-in tmrw.

Iheartpasties 4th Feb = 69.9kg (0.3kg, 0.66 pounds lost) TOTAL SO FAR = 6.56 pounds (3 kg) I am relieved that I didnt put on any weight. I also had a fizzy drink and a chocolate bar yesterday. This morning I just had a necturine instead of a slice of toast with nutella on it! That felt like a victory!

Iheartpasties Hi PennieLane, I was starting to feel lonely on this thread!!!

Pikz Mon 04-Feb-13 07:57:43

Oooooh 1 stone off now 11st. Just 1st 4lb to go!

Clothes finally starting to fit. Just don't like my csection overhang sad

crazypaving Mon 04-Feb-13 08:00:24

hi all! thanks for new thread.

I'm on day 4 of weight watchers and think it's quite telling that I'm STARVING all the time. which must just indicate the extent of my overeating before? also have permanent headache, probably partly due to sugar withdrawals and partly due to pretty extreme sleep deprivation. I'm exhausted and have a cough/cold, so pretty miserable and not up for doing exercise of any kind.

I'm eating fruit like there's no tomorrow as it has no points on ww but it doesn't fill me up! also treated myself to a slice of chocolate cake yesterday then was horrified to find it was 18 points, which was almost half my day's allowance. gutted. trying to adjust what I eat and find foods that are low in points to stop feeling hungry all the time, cos that just makes me grumpy and miserable. not ideal with 2 very small, demanding boys to look after...

StuntNun Mon 04-Feb-13 08:16:23

Weight loss fail, only a pound so far.

Iheartpasties Mon 04-Feb-13 08:27:44

Hello - sorry didnt realise this thread was here!

TheTiger Mon 04-Feb-13 09:58:05

Just checking in, will weigh in later!

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief Mon 04-Feb-13 10:55:19

crazy I find raw veg (carrot, cucumber, celery) is more filling than fruit-perhaps because the sugar content is lower so it doesn't spike your blood sugar. Eating sweet stuff, even if its fruit, often just makes me want more sweet stuff.

Hi everyone. I've been away from home for the past ten days or so. Back now, will weigh in tomorrow, pretty much dreading it. Had ten days of more food, less exercise than normal. Am also wondering about weight watchers...

utopian99 Mon 04-Feb-13 20:52:12

richman I'm the same. Carrots are rating highly on the snack list right now...

10st 11lb this morning, so at least back down from gains the other day and two hour walk today. Going to pramactive on Friday..

Iheartpasties Tue 05-Feb-13 02:16:55

Yes, I love a raw carrot, and I find a banana nice and flling smile

good luck nanoninja, and well done Pennielane.

I was pretty good yeaterday, that felt good after my awful day on Sunday. I managed to snack on healthy things and avoided choc and fizzy drink. I did have pasta though, so tonight I might try and have cauliflower instead of pasta. really depends if i can make it to the supermarket and if i remember to buy some!!

NanoNinja Tue 05-Feb-13 10:06:09

Thanks pasties. Weighed in at 57.7 kg, up 0.7kg or about 1.5lb from last weigh in and about the same down from start weight. Feb needs to be the month I kick into gear! Off to register for online ww.

TheTiger Tue 05-Feb-13 12:04:51

Well Done everyone! I find carrots more filling than fruit too. I also have snack a jacks or quavers to fill a crisp-shaped hole in my day. Ahhh I do love crisps.

Weighed in and stayed the same this week - 9 stone 7. I'm not at all surprised as I've had a bad week food-wise, and not been out with the pram as much as usual.

However, I am back in all my pre pregnancy jeans, including my topshop ultra skinnys!! smile

2 weeks until I go dress shopping for SIL's wedding... Hopefully get another couple of pounds off.

crazypaving Tue 05-Feb-13 12:09:08

thanks for the tips. anything to stop feeling so hungry, especially whilst so tired and now with evil cold.

did a sneaky interim weigh-in, 5 days into ww and I seem to have dropped 2lb! my weigh in day is thurs now as that's when I started ww, so am excited to see then! it'll make all the lack of cake so worth it...

it's interesting though how much I'd got used to eating so much more than I needed. it's quite a struggle adjusting back down and seeing it was me being unreasonable, not ww! doh.

utopian99 Tue 05-Feb-13 20:49:50

Weighed myself this morning and down by a whole extra lb! Promptly ruined it due to being trapped inside all day due to snow so had to eat toblerone to survive

NanoNinja Wed 06-Feb-13 13:08:28

Signed up to ww online last night - quidco have a code which means the first three months are effectively free. I guess I'll be eating lots of free carrot sticks...

crazypaving Wed 06-Feb-13 16:05:33

argh carbs use up so many points on ww! all my meals are based around carbs! I'm too tired to think creatively about cooking and eating; I have my repertoire, which ds1 generally eats, and I can't faff around cooking separate meals for myself!

what does everyone else do?

Sophiathesnowfairy Wed 06-Feb-13 20:57:06

Am here!

Down at 12 stone, first stretch done. Now to into the 11s!

We are off out tomorrow night.
