2 days to go. I'll be 4 stone by Sunday as runners trots seem to have taken over my body. Nerves kicking in. No bloody idea why, it's only a race however think it's more due to the fact that I may have to wear a bin liner if it's raining and it's guaranteed I'll be shown on BBC and no matter what my dearest husband says, I look shite in black plastic.

hello can I join you too? I have a 10k this weekend (first one ever) and new forest half on the 25th.(First half too) I see someone else is also doing that one. Am soooooooo excited. I ran 12 miles on sunday and made it in 1 hour 50 mins so I may just make the 2 hour time. Hope so as my step brother is also running the half and sibling rivalry has set in. Or I may just die on the 10k !!!!!

I have a quick (hopefully) Garmin question: I think I have small wrists - circumference is just under 15cm (6in) - I can't find the Forerunner 110 in any shops around here, but do any of you 110 owners have wrists this small (or smaller)? Am a bit nervous re whether will fit or not. Thanks.

Ibby I too have 15cm wrist and Garmin 110 is perfect for me - fits like a glove

You may dare ask Ibby! it's a belt thingumajig to put hairspray phone, jelly beans etc in whilst doing GNR. In USA bum bags are called fanny packs! I used to work as cabin crew for Virgin and we had to wear a money belt - I still remembering when some brash New York mafia type guy bellowed "I lurve ya fanny pack gal!!". I nearly killed him with the duty free cart then one of the girls told me what he meant!

I've woken up now and just got back from a short run...still snoozy though! I've got a Garmin 305 and 14cm wrist (I have randomly small wrists unlike the rest of me). Garmin fits fine even though it's huge. I do however now have a constant ache in my right wrist even when not wearing it due to the weight...I should really swap wrists but that would just be weird!

I am thinking of buying a running back pack so I can run to and from the gym. Any recommendations?

Rhet hope you managed to get to work in the dry. Have had a sprinkling of rain here at around 8am, followed by dullness, until about 10 minutes ago when it started thundering. Quite a surprise as no lightning (yet), no rain, no thundery feel about the air......DH off camping for the weekend, hope it stays dry for them.

ibby where did you order it from? you'll love it! DH started running again and I told him to take mine - he was a bit about it but was very enthusiastic about it when he came back in as he's doing run/walk and it made it so much easier.

Recovery runs yesterday and today after my LSR. Fit in some select bits of Bootcamp today too but am really holding back on activities where I could turn an ankle or where I unnecessarily run around tiring myself out so I save myself for my quality session tomorrow: 3M W/U, 10M @ MP, C/D. Gulp.

I wish I wasn't on the mailing list for the VLM...they seem to be sending emails every few days at the moment which I know aren't letting me know whether I got a place but every time I see an email from them my heart leaps a little bit until I realise that I still have 2-3 weeks to find out about a place!

Before I was going to Runnersneed I went to get food from sainsburys and spotted a travel belt for £5 which is perfect for my fags and Guinness for Sunday. Going to do short run with it on shortly to test it but it fits snugly into the small of my back so good find. I have also bought Snack size Snickers to eat as energy boost for GNR! They work best for me! Pity they weren't called Marathon anymore. New hair bobbles also purchased, one big bear is if my hair isn't tight when running. All these little things make a difference don't they?!
