I am currently taking out my anger/anxiety/general pissedoffness with Diana Ditch et al by renovating my kitchen terracotta floor. It's a horrible job, involves chemicals and being on my hands and knees, but with every bit of stain removal/impregnating/sealing I can think fuck you Grease-Smug!

I put on 2 stone earlier this year as a in direct result of Brexit Sad

I'm now working really hard to lose it again - and resisting the lure of carbs and wine Blush

But the cluster fuck means more of an effort Hmm

This is weird: I scroll through the TK Maxx on-line catalogue.

I don't buy anything - I rarely want to.

But it's soothing.

Other than that: carbohydrates. Like a lot of people (I hear you with the weight gain, @Prettybird Which is not good.

I flip between news channels and shopping channels. The Guardian live politics page and Amazon, filling my basket, trying not to buy too much. Mumsnet and Facebook Brexitty things and Mumsnet and Facebook non-Brexitty things!
Basically it's Brexit on one side and everything/anything else on the other!
Have resisted over-eating I'm glad to say.

Cross stitch. And lots of it! It's very soothing.

Copious online browsing (clothes, shoes, bags mainly), which sometimes culminates in purchasing, but less than you might expect considering the amount of time it takes up. I actually went to John Lewis today and went irl shopping for a couple of hours, which felt very refreshing. No purchases though.

I've started cooking from recipes again.

I do try to watch very little news and I find it less rage-inducing if I can read/hear about what happened and thus avoid video/audio of the usual suspects. Dh does a Brexity job so I'll never be completely ignorant despite my best efforts.

Oh and binge-watching comedy series from the 80s and 90s on Netflix and Amazon.

I need a new Netflix or iplayer or whatever series. Cant wait for the next series of The Crown, and planning to watch Sarah Lancashire in The Accident. Given up on BBC World on Fire - too ridiculous.

Subtitled foreign telly on Netflix. I can’t read subtitles and arse around on the internet making myself miserable at the same time. Also, Brexit has been mentioned precisely zero times in 18 months of watching almost exclusively foreign telly. If you like Scandi noir, Tunnel on Netflix (Korean crime thriller) would be a great place to start.

hazardd Grin !

done another 30 kitchen tiles today, looking good but run out of impregnator (no, not Boorish Boris...) and sealant. Why did we put terracotta throughout kitchen/diner, hallway and office and then let it got to rack and ruin?? off for a fag now.

Reading PG Wodehouse and Alexander McCall Smith and listening to Martin Jarvis as Just William. Total escapism.

My latest displacement therapy: workmen!! We have two miserable moody windowfitters indoors, plus four wonderful, funny, nothing is too much trouble guys building a new garage. Guess which ones I buy doughnuts for?! We;ve needed new windows for 20 years, so this is a huge leap forward, but I really dont like having people in the house, cant settle to anything...
