All I will say is don't be too sure Johnson is really on your side. It may all be a ploy to force through BINO.

oooh my old watering hole is back πŸ˜€ - feels like a life time ago since I last visited for a🍷 and a packet of 🐷 scratchings.

I'll have a double JD & Coke - make hay whilst I can 🍷🍷🍷before it all goes to s**tπŸ˜‰ (I like a quiet drink these days).

This is pretty much my thinking too Ghost

He's done what needed to be done - deal or no deal

Hardline anti-Brexit & hardline no-dealers screwed May over completely - 3 times Parliament has the chance to vote for a deal & they took the gamble

Now Boris (well, Dominic Cummings) has called their bluff

EU have seen that WA with backstop as it is will not pass a vote & under Boris, stopping Brexit is extremely unlikely. Added to this, Bercow blocked the option of the WA being put forward for a 4th time in this session

So... my thinking is that Boris will come back with a bastardised version of the WA (likely sans backstop) and put it to the vote
It's then entirely down to MPs to vote in good faith for a change - deal or no deal.

Hi time4 πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹

It's so close now we can almost touch it!!

Evening all.
Biltong for me please and a sherry. I wonder where we would be now had this occurred after the vote.
I don't get the outrage. For months leavers have had to endure being pinned in A corner with dogdy ref and coach, allowing punch after punch.

Leave is now out of the corner.

Out of the corner and realising how weak we are! Go usπŸ˜‚

Oh dusty diamond, that’s actually really untrue about remain mps scuppering the vote.

The erg did that as far as the numbers go, being an influential part of our dictatorship. Minor details.

Good to see you back BAL πŸ˜‚

I’m erring on the side of this - I think BJ is playing everyone and all this is to actually avoid no deal rather than force it through

Comedy gold on Facebook at the moment really glad i didnt delete the Remoaners got to say I think Bear could be right tho Boris is going to come back with a version of the WA which maintains a level of convergence not compatible with actually Leaving

Boris is going for it.
He wants his place in history, friends who work in London have said the buzz is no deal, that is because the deal on offer is a load of cobbled together do do.
Boris has said let's just get out, we can then work from there

Boris knows how damaging no deal is - he’s playing the big man now to look as though he’s got the balls to go over the top precisely so he won’t have to

Bear I really do think you have read him wrong..
Any kind of deal will be a botched together thing .
So why have leftovers.
Why not just leave and start again the next morning.

Report
Bearbehind · 29/08/2019 07:42

Because he knows full well it will be a disaster and would prefer to avoid the clean up

You’re going to be getting leftovers I’m afraid - except he’ll convince you they are the finest Michelin star ingredients!

We've been locked in deadlock.
I'm pleased someone is breaking that deadlock.

PotatoShape · 29/08/2019 07:53

Well. Brexit, hard brexit, is still the popular choice with the population. Telling us that we didn't vote for it is wasting your breath. We may not have had the explicit words on the ballot, we may have hoped for the EU to be more sensible with the deal, but brexit is still our main ambition, as will play out when we don't dissolve into chaos on the dog-whistles of a few radical remainers.

Report
bellinisurge · 29/08/2019 07:54

Yes, suspending Parliament for an unprecedented length of time during a period of national crisis is both taking back control and supporting democracy.
