These politicians always find the money when it suits. Same as if they decide to go to war. I work in a school and the cuts are tragic..

Contracting public sector spend ignores the fact that by spending, a government can stimulate the economy and this results in growth which benefits everyone. Running a government budget just is not like running a household budget. That’s nonsense. And naive.

Instead this government has carved back the state and pumped billions into the financial services sector. This has only benefited those with capital assets and no one else.

That’s why the top 1% continue to get richer and richer at the expense of everyone else.

It’s disgusting.

Brexit is appalling because it doesn’t tackle the underlying problems with our current capitalist model.

People just don’t realise that so much money has been given to the banks and to what end?

99% of us just don’t benefit. And haven’t benefitted for a long time. People realise that but are directing their fear and anger to the wrong place (the EU and immigration).

Until someone can explain that then we continue down this path.

To be fair - the EU Commission/Council did keep sending the UK recommendations and warnings under the Excessive Deficit Procedure - up until the end of 2017.

The higher tax receipts/lower debt interest repayments were not forecast by the OBR in March 2018 - the 'windfall' in autumn 2018 was a pleasant surprise. Philip Hammond did announce extra spending on public services (plus universal credit) in his autumn budget - as have Javid/Johnson.

But the injustice that has been foisted on people in this Country, the poverty that people have suffered, universal credit, the loss of children's centres, libraries , extra years at work for millions of people who could have previously retired, the people who haven't had a pay rise in 10 years, the cuts to schools, the Military, all that stuff

And then the best part of £8bn is flushed down the toilet in the blink of an eye! Does that not even make you slightly cross?

BelleSausage I sort of agree - I always thought Bojo might actually Revoke article 50 at the last minute and then convince us that he'd saved us all from a horrible Nrecit but I hope he's not going to spend billions in the process!

And I am feeling quite aggressive because I'm so bloody angry at the stupidity of it all!

All the complaining about cuts and austerity. I tell my family to just go out and enjoy life because with the upcoming Brexit this is as good as life is ever going to get.

3 years post Brexit people will be looking back to now and remembering the good old days of the 2010’s
