(149 Posts)I despair, not content with doing Nazi style rally, the Brexit party did what the Nazis did in the Reichstag today in the EU parliament.
Doing a sterling job helping the UK with international relations prior to trade negotiations .
Its shaming.

They have done it before. I think it is shameful and childish.
It's an embarrassment

They're not acting in the country's best interest. Actually actively working against the UK. Can't believe my sister voted for them.
Why the hell were the EU members standing to a national anthem, the EU is not a country, therefore an anthem is very misplaced. I am confused as to why they would ever do it. By all means play the national anthems of each country that make up the EU, but the EU is not a nation or country in its own right (even if it seems to think it is)
The next bloodbath is the next president. The circus continues.
I think you missed the point barefoot
The anthem is a way for them all EU members to be united. I like the anthem.

'Anthem' is not synonymous with 'national anthem'. HTH.

You can say that again.
See my post above. You don't have to be a nation to have an anthem.
@TheRealTitaniaMcGrat
I feel quite embarrassed to be British today. It was a shocking and childish display all round. What were they thinking?
At least the Brexit party didn’t swan in with expletives printed all over them.
I am much much more embarrassed of the Liberal Democrat’s. Outrageous.

You need to get over yourself.
Asking MEPs to stand to any anthem is utterly ridiculous.
The EU is not a nation, and note many of those that didn’t turn refused to stand, and remained seated were not even connected to the Brexit party.
The EU needs to remember it’s a gathering of nation states, not a superstate in its own right.
It still is the case
Remainers are acutely afraid of change
Brexiteers are acutely desperate for change.
Hopefully the last EU parliament we will ever take part in, so don’t stress op.
Beyond embarrassed- being paid (a lot) to do a job. Then turning your back on it from the outset.
It's shameful.
A party with a leader who sucks up to obscene Donald Trump in a servile, fawning way. But then snubs other countries and their many respected hard working politicians. Shameful.
{Brexiteers are acutely desperate for change. }
Well with BoJo or Hunt at the helm you will certainly get a change, but I am pretty sure you won't like it.
So far neither of them have managed to suggest how improvements that Leavers might want can happen.
The EU is not a nation
FFS, barefoot. NOBODY has said it is. You're embarrassing yourself now.
According to MNetters the only thing the Lib dems did wrong was their choice of colour for their tshirts, yellow not being a good choice.
Taking this advice onboard I suggest The Brexit Party take this fun line of protest and arrive wearing T-shirt’s with B0ll0cks to the EU. They’ll be no criticism as long as they don’t wear yellow.
@Crunchiecheesecake where have you read that then? Personally, although I do agree with the Lib Dem sentiment, I think the t shirt was also childish and unprofessional. Between them they have succeeded in making us even more of a laughing stock than we already were. Fabulous!!
I think the yellow t-shirt brigade were worse.
@barefootluxury
Do you feel this strongly about the Olympic anthem when it’s played at the opening/closing ceremony?
Agree that LibDems t-shirts were embarrassing too in a different way
