Westministenders: Hustings and Humilation

Round 1 has passed.
Boris is winning. But these are the Tories. Surprises might yet happen.

But the chances are the lying buffon is full speed ahead to be the next PM. As long as he manages to keep his mouth shut.

Unfortunately being Prime Minister involves talking. This might prove to be something that bursts the BorisMania rather rapidly.

A GE is still very much on the cards.

And we might face the Constitutional and undemocratic shutting down of parliament to satisfy the Tory Faithless.

Meanwhile the EU couldn't give less shits. They just think we are wasting the time we were granted in good faith.

31st October beckons with No Deal.

Rad Cat Kings - they love it when I'm needing to dry something quickly Grin

Definitely starting to build my stockpile again - but at least my garden is starting to produce now (green salads for the moment).

I've got a shit tonne of garlic plus a few lettuces right now. The peas are on the way, as are the broad beans. My onions will be ready soon too. I think almost everything else will have drowned! I'll have to find out at the weekend.

I do seem to have a load of cucumbers coming though, which is great. 😁🥒

At least we have Westminsters thread and enough time to stockpile gin.

Thanks Red, as always.

Looks likely Matt Hancock is likely to drop out tomorrow. That would be the votes of 20 generally very moderate leaning Remainers up for grabs (would they go to Stewart? Pretty good argument he'd pick up at least a couple. Would help him enormously get to round 3).

Lots of them really hate Boris. Surely someone out there has some dirt on him they are waiting to deploy...

Having made rhubarb and ginger jam for the first time (with rhubarb from my downstairs' neighbour and my gardening buddy along the road), it has been suggested to me that I should try rhubarb gin Gin I could add that to my plum gin, my plum and cinnamon gin and my redcurrant gin that are currently sitting in the press in my dining room Grin

We did say.

This is terrible now, but you have no idea of how bad it is just about to get.

I'm going to start forward purchasing after the summer recess, I think. I want to see what happens (and what I have from the allotment, assuming it's not been washed away yet!).

Agreed, Boris Johnson has the morals of an alley cat. I’m sure there’s loads of dirt on him.

I'm a long time lurker on Red's amazing threads which are always informative and insightful. But the cat pictures and off topic stuff is in danger of derailing what is a very important MN resource.

Would it be possible to have a Brexit funnies/cat photo thread in order to keep these threads on track?

I don't think separate threads are required...light relief is welcomed in times like these.

Boris's artful "piffle" charms the Tory members and a good chunk of the electorate
Some idiots will vote for him just for the lolz Confused

He's as Teflon as Farage
No other politician could hold major office after his ludicrous jape stuck on a wire over London

Nothing much will tarnish him until the No Deal crash - and even then his devotees will blame the EU, Remainers, judges, foreign weather .....

Dear god it's all so bloody depressing... we need the light relief.

My lab found the empty tassimo pods stash - she is a dog of taste and discernment, and managed to leave the coffee ones but chew up the hot chocolate ones. Much like a Brexiter choosing which bit of unicorn shit they want.

I have increased the fruit & vegetable production capacity of my backyard from just above zero, to a fairly good amount. (Considering it's the small paved yard of a town house, in the barren wastes of The North.)

But yes, I agree. We are royally screwed.
