FFS. As if today wasn’t bleak enough already. Off to renew foreign passport.

Whenever I see him, I can’t help but think of poor Nazanin still rotting in jail because of his idiocy. He whirlwinds around causing chaos and misery and will do the same with Brexit. The civil servants must be shitting themselves.

I don't know. Boris has the backing of Iain Duncan Smith, the worst opposition leader in the history of opposition leaders ever. I'm sure there are many Tory MPs at play here. The game seems to be who do we dislike so much we want to shoot them in the foot. The answer?

Boris Johnson.

I'll have that gun once you are finished with

Does Boris have something on them? He was shit as a foreign secretary, he will be shit as a pm.

He was also shit at being the mayor of London.

Boris Johnson becoming PM is the apotheosis of the UK's journey towards total fucked-ness. We are on course for disaster.

From someone who must know him rather well...

Boris will be good. I would prefer Michael Gove but still at least Boris will get us out of the EU.

I agree. He should have left public life after what he said about Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe. I'm so ashamed of our politicians that he is still in any position of power.

I'm struggling to recall a time when he told the truth.

I'm struggling to recall a time when he told the truth.

I know! I know! I've got one.

When he said that he drafted two articles for the paper in 2016 one supporting Leave and one supporting Remain - and decided to go with the former.

He was implicitly truthful then...deciding which route would suit his career best. With no thought of moral belief or principle based on what would be best for the country.

I'm struggling to recall a time when he told the truth.

I've got another one! He referred to his children having a sikh grandparent. That's true.

His stbx Marina, is the daughter of Sir Charles Wheeler, and her mother, Dip Singh.

NO, he WONT. Trust me, and I'm a remainer and would love nothing more than for the UK to have a people's vote or another referendum, but I can honestly assure you that Boris Johnson will not be getting you out of the EU.

It will be Corbyn if it's anyone.

Rory Stewart is nothing more than a Theresa May clone and won't get very far saying I'm going to ' support the current withdrawal agreement' as he did earlier. I wouldn't be surprised if she voted for him today!
I don't mind him , as his better than the others but I don't think the Tory faithful will. Plus Parliament would be back to square one straight away and the WA would still be voted down.
The thought of Boris isn't good either; all of them make me shudder.
Such a mess.

"at least Boris will get us out of the EU."

I actually think this isn't a given. He's a shifty fucker as evidenced by his squirmy press conference (if it wasn't obvious beforehand). And he would be just as comfortable shafting BeLeavers like you @Coppersulphate as he would everyone else he has ever shafted.

I wouldn't trust him to post a letter for me or to put the kettle on if I asked him to. Your really are in a desperate state if you pin all your hopes on him.

Obviously we were jealous of the indelible stain that the US now has after electing Trump.

Placemats, you say "trust me, I'm a remainer". Why on earth should I trust you?

The MPs have voted for Boris because he is the one most likely to win a GE and save their seats. That is what all MPs care about.

But I believe he will deliver on Brexit. I think he would be prepared to take us out with no deal.

If it between him and Michael Gove I will vote for Gove. But if it is Boris and anyone else I will vote for Boris.

Coppersulphate · 13/06/2019 14:23

Bellini, I don't pin all of my hopes on Boris, or on anyone else for that matter.

I think any of these candidates (maybe except Stewart ) will get is out of the EU.
But it is also important that the Tories win the next election.....unless the Brexit party win it, which would also be fine with me.

I don’t have a problem with Boris - I think he’s the best option to Remain.

He is only out for number one and won’t hestitate to argue black is white one day then argue the complete opposite the next day.

He knows no deal would ruin him and the Tories - he’ll find a way of blustering through and convincing the Leave disciples it’s what they wanted all along.
