Second Referendum. How would the campaign go and which side would politicians take?

Do you think TM would now say she supports Leave? Or go back to Remain? Either way, I don't think she'd be allowed to keep quiet. What about the rest of them?

What would the Leave/Remain campaign now say and campaign on? Would Leave get their bus out again?

Ultimately I think their will be a second referendum on the final deal. They're not going to be able to get a deal better than we have inside the EU. Business will be demanding answers, the HoC won't just pass it. I think it'll be put back to the people so government can shift the blame.

As much as I want one, or even better the whole thing binning, I don't think a second referendum will happen. The UK is on a path of self destruction and few MPs are prepared to risk their position in order to protect us.

They would just repeat 'the people have spoken' on a loop, probably.

We can't trust the Mail, Express and Telegraph to not try to swing the results to the hardest Brexit they can. Hence the Mail grumbling this morning about the cross party initiatives; something which many of us feel should have happened a year ago.

So no, I don't trust Referenda - I think, like Germany, we should ban them from now on. They have done nothing but bring discord about.

Well it's all interesting isn't it? This question about the single market and freedom of movement pings to and fro. And who knew immigrants were so important to the economy and our health service after all?

I think there will be a growing movement towards a final vote on it even if not an actual Ref2.

A vote on it might mean another general election rather than another referendum.

The Mail might be a bit less gung-ho now they've discovered their boot is no longer on the throat of the british government.

I don't think a second referendum 're in or out should be held now. But a referendum on deal options. Yes

GE is a very blunt instrument when parties are internally divided on this.

Look at the number of people who voted Labour trying to avoid hard Brexit, and are now being told that's what they actually support. Or is it? 'Retaining the benefits of the Single Market' turned out to mean leaving it?!

Yes. I wish Corbyn was anti-Brexit.

Before the election result there were whispers of a new centre left with Clegg and Blair. Not sure that's even possible now with the surprise result.

Just said on news with meeting with Macron they are happy to reverse it and have us stay in EU. Wish they would have another referendum. Would be interesting to see the result.

Sorry, posted this on the wrong thread. I meant it to be here.

If we did have another referendum, what raise do you think people like TM would take? Go back to Remain? Although TM was keen to steam ahead with a hard Brexit I don't think she ever once said we would be better off outside the EU.

If it was a referendum on the final deal I guess she would say we are better off taking the deal than staying in the EU. I can't imagine her coming out and saying that deal I've just negotiated is shit and we're better off in the EU, even if that's the case and she knows it.
