This is a TAAT, sorry (more of a Thread inspired by a thread though, really).
I've seen people saying that they're "deliriously happy" about today and similar sentiments. Lots of actual celebrating, champagne and stuff.
Why?
I'm a bit miserable today about it all but on the most part (and for the last few months) I've been like eh, fuck it, let's just get it over with and as soon as I'm qualified we'll take our UK-funded skills and leave. Most people I know are similar. At the Referendum itself my FB timeline was like a warzone, no-one's actually mentioned today on either side. It's just like ok yeah it's dragged on for ages now and no-one really knows what they're doing so just do it and get it over with.
If you voted Leave I can understand why you'd be happy it's here, ready to get on with it etc but what is the cause of the massive celebrations? There's two years of uncertainty ahead before we're even actually out, and no-one knows what will happen but people on here and on Twitter are going crazy like we've just won the World Cup.
Maybe I'm just searching for any shred of positivity in what appears to be a colossal fuckstorm waiting to happen but I genuinely want to know what there is to be celebrated today?
