Time4, on the subject of petitions (from the previous thread), I wonder if I may start one:

"We The People demand that politicians STOP telling the truth about what they will do if elected.
We demand that our politicians go back to lying & twisting, because we're much more comfortable with that".

(Or words to that effect...) Wink

Wine by the way to all the usual suspects

Not so mellow here Bored.

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the songs of angry men?
It is the music of the people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?

Funnily enough.....Asylum seekers in terror networks aren’t refugees, EU’s top court rules
Support for terrorist activities valid grounds for denying refugee status, the European court found.
By ESTHER KING 1/31/17, 10:40 AM CET Updated 1/31/17, 3:52 PM CET
European countries can reject asylum applications from people involved in a terrorist network, the European Court of Justice ruled Tuesday.

The ECJ decision relates to the case of Mostafa Lounani, a Moroccan national convicted in Belgium and sentenced to six years in prison in 2006 for his participation in the Belgian cell of the “Moroccan Islamic Combatant Group” terrorist organization.

Lounani applied for refugee status in 2010, claiming he feared persecution as a radical Islamist if he were returned to Moroccan authorities. Belgium rejected Louhani’s application, a decision the Belgian Council for asylum and immigration proceedings then appealed. Lounani’s actions, it said, could not be categorized as “acts contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations” because he had not personally committed terrorist acts.

I am nominating John Redwood as the pin-up for this thread after his performance today.

Bless him, like a trembling pecky bird he got all excited in the A50 debate today and proclaimed that the 'once sovereign parliament of Great Britain would become sovereign again' and 'stop being a puppet parliament'.

He was so fired up 😂

Bored - this is my face Shock after I have read the recent comings and goings on the 'other' thread recently. I am really trying but I actually, really and truly, can't get my head around it. Currently there seems to be a real issue with some posters in that their local MP is not doing what they are told and /or getting upset when they don't get a reply to their gazillion questions/demands - sound familiar?!? Wink

Semi - double dare you to post you lovely chart Smile

time4 at least they are back to brexit and off trump..i got a bashing for asking why he was being discussed on eu ref thread..."why, it is so relevant, inextricably linked' or such guff, when at other times they will swear that brexit and trump have nothing in common. discombobulated, much.

I don't look at the other thread, too much like hard work, & for what? All that effort in typing out posts a mile long, & for what? no one cares.
We're leaving the EU.
DT is president.
Get over it.

Surfer - actually when I read one of those lengthy posts more often than not one of your comments from a few days ago pops into my head - along the lines of 'by the time I have read it, thought about it and typed an appropriate response I could have done a weekly shop' makes me Smile.

There was a word on here a few weeks ago that I thought I must get into a conversation somewhere in RL but haven't and now can't remember what the hell it was!
