I watched this. I do feel it was lacking in two main points though of why people voted leave.

  1. Not wanting to be part of a united states of europe

  1. Wanting control of "unskilled" immigration

I suppose it did show that majority of leave voters were not racist, some of them were of different ethnic origin (but felt strongly accepted as being british) and still voted leave.

I also noted that one of the remain voters commented on lack of opportunity when leaving university. I suppose that shows how important the class divide has been in all of this.

However I know a few very working class people who voted remain purely because they didn't want conservatives to have sole power. Their train of thought being that we have more rights under EU regulation than alone.

Yeah the turkey thing amused me. It reminded me of an episode of game of thrones called 'the wheel' where the mother of dragons states "I don't want to stop the wheel, I want to break the wheel" . Both suggest change is over due. For different reasons we articulate ourselves in different ways.

I thought the pub landlord articulated that whole POV very well, actually.

It was nice to see Panorama give screen time to 'ordinary people' from regional UK to explain their thinking.

I'm going to catch up with this later. I want to gain a better understanding of the leave side.
