Much is made of the fact that Nigel Farage was on a fisheries sub committee but only went to one meeting. What was that meeting about and what did he say? Why didn't he go to the others? He mentioned fisheries specifically yesterday ("we want our fishing waters back")
I voted Remain as I generally think the EU is a good thing...but I think British (and Irish) fishermen really were the worst affected sacrificial victims for trade agreements. It's one thing I really didn't like about the EU.
What is the general feeling about UKIP and Farage in the UK fishing communities? Is there really a snowball's chance in hell of getting the Irish Box reinstated, for example? I think not, as fishing is such a small % of the economy and fishermen such a tiny number of potential voters so doubt whether anyone will give much of a stuff about their interests at the negotiating table.
But interested to hear the thoughts of people from fishing communities who follow these things.
