Coping with family members who voted differently to you

I know a lot of us are in this situation at the moment so I thought it might be an idea to start a thread where we could vent a bit and get it off out chest. Even if no one else posts it will make me feel better.

Now this isn't the first time I have faced this, the Indy ref in 2014 I had several family members who voted differently but it wasn't anything like this. I suppose it's because nothing really changed and life when on as normal but with some bruised feelings and dashed hopes and dreams.

The problem is mainly my brother -
Last night he posted the video of that smug face cunt, racist twat Farage gloating to the EU with a post along the lines of how he is the only politician speaking the truth.

When I asked him how on earth he could possibly idolise someone who is clearly racist (baring in mind my brothers children are mixed race as his ex is 1/2 Jamaican) he came back with a week argument about the pound already recovering and something about Germany wanting to take over the world Confused

He also went on to say we need someone like Donald Trump to lead the UK.

I know my brother and I have always been on different pages politically but really not sure how we can agree to disagree on this one. For me this is about more than the vote to leave the EU, it's about the rise of the far right extremist nutters who are rapidly gaining support. Sadly my brother appears to have joined this camp and I don't see how we can move forward from this.

I would like to say I feel better after writing that all down but I think I actually feel worse. Sad

I think you need to ask why is the far right rising> why did people who may have never voted before feel compelled to show up in droves on the ref?

why?

what is fueling the rise of the far right across the EU? why are people so angry?
