Boris would be pleased, he looks light a rabbit caught in headlights atm.
Boris for Prime Minister, Britain remains in Europe. He would be chuffed with that outcome.

ha ha brilliant ! I don't think Scottish Parliament should block brexit - let England & Wales lie in the bed they've made for themselves

Scottish Parliament has to ratify the UK decision to leave Europe. Without their consent the process cannot go ahead. Nicola is asking members not to consent.

But she won't give consent, she represents the people of Scotland.

Why didn't you put this in the EU referendum topic?

This isn't an AIBU.

I think anything about Brexit falls within aibu - everyone is being unreasonable at the moment

If she refuses to ratify the decision I will love her for life.

Whether it turns out she can or not, if the EU would have them or not, she is doing something our politicians are not, she is talking to her electorate, outlining her reasons for her actions.

She would be remiss if she did not do all she can to find a way for Scotland to get what it wanted. That is what she was elected to do and the EU vote was far more marked n Scotland than the UK as a whole... her electorate has spoken loud and clear,

Just wish ours would do something similar instead of what... resigning in 4 months, hiding from us, simply not doing anything that we can see/hear... even if we do disagree with it!

Go on Nicola. At last someone is doing something. Where is Boris? Gove? Farage?

I want to say "GO Nicola!" but honestly.... UK is going to look like a international laughing stock if Sturgeon really can do this.

These are very interesting political times, I bloody love it! Terrifying certainly but imaging getting to explain to grandkids when they ask what the UK was? Or what the EU was? And seeing the look of shock when they realise that everyone use to be united, probably the same look I gave my grandad when he told me Germany use to be divided & that their was an actual bloody wall separating the 2 sides.

Just to clarify the Scottish Parliament does not actually have the power to veto because the Scottish Parliament cannot overrule Westminster, the only way they could have done it was a region lock before the EU referendum was held and the government rejected it
