Tory MP says after the EU referendum Cameron will be booted out. What is your view, should he be booted out, can he possibly continue, can he reunite the party after his controversial campaign?

I would imagine that is the case. Cameron said he was eurosceptic at heart but his head has told him to come out with the type of exaggerations he has come out with, which are referred to by some people as crap.

The split in the Tory party won't be able to be pasted over. I think Cameron has lost credibility in his desperatin to save the establishment.

I think it would be refreshing to see a complete shake-up in the Tory party. No Cameron, Osborne or Boris. Bring in Liam Fox, Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Dan Hannan, David Davies and some newcomers with great ideas. I'm not a Tory but think they can do much better than the shambles they've got themselves into at the moment.

Those dumb-assed brexit comments citing Hitler marked him out as a man who's both divisive and utterly incompetent in the area of international diplomacy. Which by the way would be skills requirement #1 in leading UK in trade agreements in a hypothetical post-brexit world.

I'm politically centre-right and used to think Boris Johnson would make a great prime minister. Now I would actually vote Jeremy Corbyn to block him, just to limit the damage.

I think George will get it. He's not nice and he's not ready. An unintended negative consequence of an EU referendum campaign run unprofessionally from both sides.

I think there is now no chance for George Osborne or any of the Remain Tories to be leader. Remain is too unpopular with grassroots Tories and they won't support them. Also there is bound to be a rebellion by the many Tory MPs who are for Brexit.

It may be Boris, or possibly Gove if he wants to run, or maybe Liam Fox or Priti Patel, but it won't be any of the Remainers.

I think Cameron will bow out after the referendum regardless of the result. There are lots of decent Tory MPs, yes including Pritti Patel, but back benchers too. I've always liked John Baron.

John Prescott is saying that he expects Cameron to be out either way as he will face a rebellion. He says expect a "snap election" and that Corbyn is getting ready for it.

I agree with Winterbiscuit.

Cameron is loathed. I have people telling me that they voted for him at the last election and are bitterly disappointed in the way he has run this Govt and of course, over the shambolic scare-mongering of this referendum. He is seen as untrustworthy, shallow and unpatriotic.

Osborne is too closely associated with Cameron to become PM now. He has also has one too many Budget cock up.

May is two-faced and didn't have the courage of her convictions to back Leave - and makes ludicrous speeches about binning the Human Rights Act - which she knows is impossible. It just shows the paucity of talent in the Cameron Cabinet that she is even being considered as a potential leader.

Boris has blown it. He was too late out of the starting blocks - so his Leave support looked half-hearted and cynical. He's made some stupid gaffes. I expected him to be serious and sensible - he couldn't manage that.

The rest of Cameron's Cabinet are pretty much dead heads like Hammond or Soubry - yuk.

There is an entire alternative Tory Government amongst the declared Tory Eurosceptic MPs. Priti Patel has been very impressive and very courageous. I could see her as a future PM. Grayling always seems very calm and composed. I'm not keen on Gove although many people do seem to like him.

David Davis would make an excellent caretaker PM should Cameron get the heave-ho. Plenty of common sense, liked by many and non-elite background. I wish he had actually beaten Cameron at the last Tory leadership election. Things may have turned out very differently.

Cameron is a heartless scumbag but he is at least sane. Springing, did you honestly expect Boris to be serious and sensible? We must be thinking of two different Borises then. I'm a Londoner and have had it to the back teeth with 8 years of his self serving fake buffoonery and being forgiven for every damn thing by muppets who think he's funny. I desperately hope his credibility has been ruined for good by his shameless behaviour in the past couple of months

The problem with Cameron is that he's not a Tory.

Tory PMs don't introduce nannying nonsense like Sugar Taxes.

Tory PMs do not browbeat their electorate into giving up their democratic rights.

Many people held their noses and voted for him at the last election because they wanted this referendum. They are disgusted at the dirty tricks he has utilised. They will never vote for him again. Some say they will actually campaign against the Tories at the next election to punish them for this farce.
