Brexit the movie has been released free for everyone to watch. It is just over 1 hour long & I found it very good & looked at the key issues to make a case to leave the EU

It has now been posted on Youtube, some of the things the EU get up to are very shocking. They even get an allowance for Viagra! & it looked at EU regs, there were dozens of EU regulations on pillow cases, mirrors & a range of things. Quite an eye opener

Excellent movie...a real eye opener. I feel like the Remain, corporate backed machine is trying to pull the wool over our eyes over this vote....

I've just finished watching the movie. It is totally stunning, excellently put together and very informative. It appears that Switzerland is the most successful & wealthy country through its trade. And guess what, they have real democracy because the politicians take note of what the electorate want. It's a bottom up system, not a top down. If people want a referendum on something, all that is required is 50,000 signatures. If UK leaves, we do NOT need a formal trade agreement with any country in order to trade!

The film also said that EU is not doing all that well financially.

People keep saying they don't understand the EU or don't know enough about it to vote.

Just watched it. Very, very interesting.

Fascinating to hear the history of the EEC/EU, the stifling regulations that surround everything in our daily lives, the unelected elite that form the top-down system governing the EU. Protectionism pushing up prices, tariff barriers also manipulating prices resulting in the EU being a trade bloc in decline. The worrying rise of the far right, which seems to be in the news a lot recently.

The Swiss case study - which in itself is reason enough to leave. And the overriding conclusion that we can't achieve real democracy, freedom and independence within the EU.

I'll be recommending it to everyone.

The Swiss case study really refers more to the Swiss method of democracy. Is the suggestion that, just by coming out of the EU we would change our entire democratic system to mirror the one in CH?

Also will the UK be setting County tax levels for workers and industry, and establishing a 7% income tax and 30chf minimum wage for workers?

Will the UK people be happy in turn to pay 30% more for everything - food, clothing etc?

A chicken here costs £20, a Starbucks £10 and a McDonalds £15 for example.

Also the population of Switzeland is 30% non Swiss.

Most Swiss people aren't happy with the lack of regulation in industry - you can be sacked with no reason or warning from your job. Nestle act as they do because there is no regulating authority to tell them otherwise. Same with Roche and Novartis. Not always ethical in their strategies as most people know.

They have no NHS either so don't have to swallow this as a cost. Are the people of the U.K. happy to move to a private healthcare system?

I'd think very carefully on seeing Switzeland as the Oz of Europe. Somethings are very good here, but I'm no wealthier or safer overall for living here.

If we REMAIN in the EU we will have no NHS system either.

It's under attack by

  1. EU/US TTIP trade deal
  2. EU 'harmonisation' of health services across the EU which will undoubtedly be force on us at some point
  3. the pressure placed on it by uncontrolled EU migration as it's now open to 550 million EU citizens who could use it.

    I'll preempt the REMAIN rebuttal which will try to claim the NHS has already been privatised so we may as well stay in because we have no public NHS left to lose.

    I don't believe that. I'm voting LEAVE.

Obviously the film painted Switzerland in a very rosy light, and it was attempting to illustrate how a non-EU country is faring compared to the UK. Of course it was biased - Albania wasn’t chosen as a comparison, but it begs the question – why has Switzerland never joined the EEC /EU? And why are countries such as Albania/Macedonia/Turkey desperate to join? There seems to be a clear distinction, the poorer the country, the bigger the benefits from EU membership, and vice-versa.

The clincher – if the UK was outside the EU now, would the politicians be advising that we join?

I always knew the salaries and benefits paid to the bureaucrats were huge, but what was disclosed on the film was truly staggering.

There can be no justification for this level of payments and benefits. Where is the transparency? What the hell are 10,000 EU bureaucrats doing earn more than our PM? I'd like to know what they do with my hard earned tax. Yet this will continue as long as they are unanswerable and unaccountable to the people they serve.

They don't. EU MEPs & bureaucrats basic gross pay is in the same ball park as UK MPs & civil servants. However they are paid in euros so the exact amount depends on the exchange rate. However they are liable for less tax in the EU, receive expenses based on the cost of living in Brussels & have a generous pension scheme.

One study found MEPs cost considerably more than MPs, but it wasn't comparing like with like. The EU is an international institution so the costs include substantial costs for translation & interpretation services. Also Westminster & Whitehall are government buildings whereas EU buildings are leased.

In the UK we tend to think of federal system of government as a heavily centralised one like that of the modern USA but Europeans mean a looser form of federalism like Switzerland where decisions are made at the lowest possible level. So it's rather ironic if Brexit who have argued against federalism are advocating a Swiss model.

I think the point about Brexit is that if it comes about, at last we'll be free to choose whatever model, if any, the UK wants to follow. Or maybe invent one of our own. True democracy at last.

And we will save a lot more than our EU membership fees. The £350 million a week is just the start.

Is Britain up to the job of running itself? Or do we need Nanny EU to give us our pocket money and rules?

I think the Remain campaign are insulting the people of the UK, by effectively giving us a vote of no confidence.

The Leave side is about a confidence and pride in Britain, in the knowledge that we know perfectly well how to run a country without interference.
