Anyone wanting to sell a Thorn Triplet or Pashley trike with child seats?

Hi. Realise this is a very long shot, but wondering if anyone out there had a Thorn Triplet (i.e. a three person tandem for an adult and two kids) or a Pashley trike with the two rearfacing child seats that they were thinking of selling?

I have a Pashley on my drive, would need lots of TLC, quite a lot of rust, flat tyres, but if you can collect it from SW LOndon it's yours. I am very ashamed of the state it's in - I LOVED riding around with my 2 on it but I have 3 now and haven't ridden it in 18 months now.

Not sure what the protocol is on this, but if, arcticlemming, you don't want the pashley, and, angrypixie, you would still be happy to sell, I would LOVE to give your pashley a loving home, and my DH could pick it up next week!

Ahh, looks like you are sorted, but if it doesn't work out we do have a Thorn triplet gathering dust in the garage...

Amazing what mumsnetters have lying about!

That's brilliant. We're actually looking for both - the pashley is for me to get the two kids to and from preschool etc, and the triplet is more for days out - would be DH pilotting, me in the middle (I'm short) dd1 on the third seat and DD2 in a child seat. Would you mind emailing me details of it, including where you are and how much you want for it?

Thanks angrypixie - have responded to the email with your very kind offer. Sorry Moodlum - we're also keen to give it a good home and use if for the pre-school run (my DH is very up on renovating and repairing bikes), but I do hope you find something else.

Hello everyone. Wondered if anybody could help with my query in connection with child seats and a Pashley tricycle. I too love the idea of using peddle power to get my two little ones around but am finding it practically impossible to find out which child seats work the best side by side on the back!! Many Thanks

Sunnyholme74 - gosh I've been having the same problem this morning - I am looking for 2 childseats to go on a Pashley Piccolo tricycle but that are forward rather than rear facing. Pashley did sell specific side by side sling/harness type seats in the past (rear facing). From what I can gather you need to contact Pashley direct to see if they are still in production. I haven't seen any for sale at all and I've been trawling the net all morning. I have however seen several second hand Pashley trikes for sale with the rear facing child seats...mostly on gumtree etc.

Oh wow, this Mumsnet thing is brilliant is'nt it?! I really wasn't expecting such a brilliant response so quickly. Thank you so much! I shall have a look on 'Gumtree' as this is one I didn't know about!! Good luck with your search, maybe we can update each other here if we have any luck?! P.S. I agree that forward facing jobbies would be far better for dishing out snacks,drinks and wiping noses whilst on the move. Would also work really well if we could keep basket on back to hold nappy bags etc too!

I have a Thorn Triplet that I am just about to sell. Good condition - hardly used; kiddy cranks; frame splits in two for easier transportation even have dedicated roof rack.

Hi Gelanum

It is a red Thorn triplet or Me N U2. there is a set of kiddy cranks. It is fitted with aerospace couplings that allows the frame to be split in two. I purchased it in 2004 from St John Street Cycles and have used it with my two daughters.

What else would you like to know? I can send pictures. I am currently in France but am returning to the UK in June and July and would be happy to drop it off - the alternative would be to send it by courier.

Just to bump this thread. Seems to be a brilliant way of getting around with a couple of kids. I'm looking for a environmentally friendly way of getting the kids to school and would really love to buy a trike, either pashley, trikidoo, babboe or open to other suggestions anyone would have.
