Plastic free instant coffee

Anyone know of any??? Even douwe Egberts seems to have a plastic seal? Or thoughts on kenco refills? Thanks :)

Can't say I've ever seen or heard of any. Lids all seem to be plastic. Never seen it in any bulk stores.

Lavazza comes in some sort of metal container. Not the cheapest but I love it.

Hmmmm is the lavazza a ground coffee or instant? Can't seem to see an instant one in metal? Please don't say I have to give up coffee

I think most will have some kind of plastic seal on the lid TBH.

Douwe Egberts do instant coffee is glass jars, wouldn’t that do the job?

The lavazza instant I’m looking at on their website seems to be a standard plastic lid.

Thanks all. Yes I had switched to dowue Egberts but it has a plastic seal. Just wondered if there was a totally plastic free option. It seems not!

I think the issue is freshness and the fact that if the coffee gets damp it sets hard. I’ve had this even in a storage jar with a rubber seal after a while. The Douwe Egbert ones can at least be reused as storage jars (although there’s only so many you need!)

We just use coffee beans and buy in bulk. I do find I drink less coffee now - well, still 3-4 cups of a morning - whereas I used to drink much more when I bought instant coffee.

I also think it may be a freshness/moisture thing as instant goes very manky with even a slight bit of humidity if not sealed - the Douwe Egberts seal keeps the jar properly sealed closed (and makes it excellent for storing stuff like oats, flour, sugar etc - I buy the large ones for that reason). Ground coffee isn’t as temperamental so you’re likely to have much more luck with that (and it is nicer, but can totally understand why you would want to have instant in too).
