ok just want your views on this ,would you pay extra voluntarily ,say 10p when you went on a flight to help offset the carbon emission? this money would be ploughed back into carbon offsetting ? actually a flight might be a tad more ,say 50p ,what do you think?

Well, I have very little faith in the good will of your average plc to reduce its carbon footprint, but yes I would be prepared to pay extra in principle.

yes i know what you mean but if it was nominal ie pence as opposed to pounds i would of thought people would be willing to make a contribution

A 5% tax on flights ring fenced for renewables would make sense to me.

Think if you were to do this on a par with cars it would be a lot more like c 70% of the fuel bill. This is an interesting viewpoint. Last para makes you think.

Here is a calculator to work out your flight emissions

have a look at this British Airways have a link to this site for customers to use...but it is hard to find from the BA site.

eg. 1 person Gatwick to Paris return = £0.75p. I would pay that.

There are other links on this web for house and car offset. Other conpanies doing the same thing too.
