Our composting bin has finally arrived and we have started to fill it. We have so far added all the 'usual' ingredients but there are many other garden bits which I'm not sure if we can also include eg. soil & dead annuals from my tubs and pots, shrub clippings etc. If anyone could offer any advice or a user-friendly, informative web-site, then I'd be really grateful. Many thanks.

apparently the best compost comes from a mix of vegetable waste from your kitchen, grass clippings, and "brown" garden weaste eg. leaves. anything substantial needs to be shredded

You can add paper and cardboard too, but tear it up a bit first.
