Charity shops - do they take old videos?

We no longer have a video player and in my latest decluttering efforts have found a couple of dozen VHS tapes that may still work (there are others in the pile that look mouldy on the tapes so I'm binning those.) Is it worth offering the ones that look ok to the charity shop - do they still sell?

I'm not sure many do now, my dad tried to donate some about 6 months back but was told no thanks as they just don't sell. He ended up donating them to a retirement home.

You could put them on freecycle for your area.

I doubt it. Very few people have video recorders any more. We stopped accepting videos for fund raising activities at DD's primary school years ago.

Our local Salvation Army shop still sells them.

The charity shops near me have signs in the window stating that they no longer take them.

Local ones to me still sell them. Smile

My local ones either don't accept or give them away for free so you wouldn't be doing them much good by donating them unfortunately
