Asking on behalf of my brother.
Where my brother works is currently in a 90 day consultation period and my DB's post has been identified as one that is no longer required. At the end of this period, he will be issued a compulsory redundancy notice. If he wanted to, he could volunter to go now but would lose Payment in lieu of notice which he would receive on being made compulsory redundant.
He has applied for another job and been called to an interview. If he is successful and is offered the job, will he still receive his redundancy payment if he accepts the job but has his starting date after the compulsory notice has been issued?
If he accepts the job, will the new employer contact his old employer or can my DB ask them not to in order to not alert his current employers to what he is doing?
