I don't really know what to do, if this sounds like a rant it's because I'm so bloody angry!

So I'm 30+ weeks pregnant and work in a hotel as a receptionist, I have done a risk assessment with HR where they said don't stand for long periods etc etc. However the structure of the hotel has changed and receptionists have to stand all the time to greet guests etc, when I questioned this I was told that I could possibly have a chair!

This request was rejected as it would 'ruin the hotels image' so I put up with the situation for a while sitting down when possible. From quite an early stage I started having problems with my back and so spoke to my boss who said that I would be able to sit for the majority of my shift and the other receptionist on duty could do the brunt of the front of house work.

This seemed fair enough and worked fairly well until about a month ago when I found myself on shifts on my own for up to 5 hours, again I spoke to my bosses and requested that there was always a second person on with me as although I can sit I am having to get up and down constantly and this is affecting my hips, this was met with very positive answers and I was told this would happen!

Having taken a day off last week due to hip and back problems I come back to work today and see the rota says I am on shift on my own tomorrow from 7 till 12 and again for the following 3 Mondays! I spoke to the duty manager and told him this wasn't acceptable and that I wouldn't be coming in tomorrow.

AIBU to do this and can anyone advise me what to do to make sure this doesn't happen again as there is another girl on reception now who is pregnant and probably won't speak her mind like I will! Another reason why I am finding it so hard is cos I have a 15mo at home just to give you a bit more backgorund! Sorry this is so long!
